Would also be interested in a ticket for the half marathon if anyone has one?

I am travelling a distance for the race, so staying in the Silver Springs on saturday night. Would anyone local or who has done this before for the race know what time I would need to be getting a taxi from the hotel to arrive at the HM start in Kennedy Park for 9:15?

or is it a walkable distance?

I think the half marathon starts at 10.15?

It's about a 4km walk from Silversprings to Kennedy Park.

Info from the email I got about it.

The Half Marathon starts on Monahan Road . There will be two waves. Runners will assemble in Kennedy Park in their chosen Wave.
The first wave starts at 10:15 . This will include the 1:30, 1:40, 1:45 and 1:50 pacers.
The second wave lead by the 2 hour pacers will start at 10:30 AM. Runners should pick the wave appropriate to their predicted finishing time.

Did the 10k this year for the first time, have done the marathon twice previously. Enjoyable event but it looks like the course was about a quarter of a kilometre too long. That's the second big race in Cork in recent weeks that was too long, pretty disappointing really for such a big event.

I see CCM is going to a ballot style entry for the '27 event 😐️

Could just be to drum up more interest. It doesn’t sell out very quickly so I imagine most people will get a spot 🤞

just requires even more advanced race planning 🙈

All the races ballot. I assume it’s a way of getting the money in early

Seems to be generating a bit of a negative backlash online. I did the 10k this year, the full last year, the half in 2024, the full in 2023 and the half in 2022, I'll be pretty dissapointed if I don't get in on a ballot this time around.
