Xavi out for 9 months with ACL, Solanke out again, losing these players in a relegation scrap will make it even more difficult, the medical team at Totenham will have questions along with training schedule in place, along with the ownership, if they go down.

I just think that a stat like that is very much in "net spend" territory.

"If you pick this specific date range and that specific ground and make it a top ten then here is another record".

Its a bit gimmicky and demeans him a little. Such a player has enough genuinely impressive records that he doesn't need the gimmicks to make himself look better. Especially when the stat itself isn't that impressive, its only possible because of Uniteds own failings and the lack of goals from the likes of Jadon Sancho.

I will note that part of it for me is that I expect a teams main goalscorer to be scoring goals, if it was Ronaldo against a smaller club I'd expect him to have scored nearly every time he went there. For example, I note that from 2019 until he left the league in 2023, Harry Kane scored 4 goals and 3 assists in 5 games at Old Trafford.

Salah scored 7 goals at Old Trafford since 2020. I'd argue that his 3 goals/3 assists in 5 games at Man City is more impressive, since they were against a dominant City side. But that doesn't put him in the top 10 of anything.

Ya that's what jumped out for me. Did not expect some of those names to be on that list.

16 in 38 isn't an unbelievably poor return from Martial IMO

Yes you might expect more but Salah has 18 in his last 38 at Anfield for comparison

Without checking, I'd imagine Martial started less games and was on the bench to start or finish many of those appearances

If you are attempting to retcon Anthony Martials record at Utd then you've gone too far.

Salah was a fantastic, world class player. Whether it was against Manchester United, Arsenal, Norwich or anyone else it doesn't matter. Nobody is demeaning Salah and his accomplishments by pointing out how silly the Old Trafford stat is. Its a stat purely made for social media engagement and Salahs career is so much more than that

Denis Bailey scored a hat trick for QPR in a league game at Old Trafford.

They should be looking at the pitch. The retractable surface, designed to generate more income, may be causing wear and tear beyond normal.

Should really be asking the players to get off before they pull it through those narrower corridors.

What is Brentford's problem? Why do they not just score the many goals that Man United are clearly asking them to score?

Thiago looks like a man United fan who is terrified to see them conceding

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,819 ✭✭✭jacool

Thiago might know what happened the last "big man" up front, who used to play for the Bees, and is trying to avoid a similar outcome.

It says something about the state of the game, that I find it refreshing to see a player not going down moaning and roaring when he gets hit. Clearly Sesko smacks van der Berg in the face, accidentally, but he just gets up, they shake hands and back to the football. No intent or malice on one side, and no over-reaction and attempting at getting someone booked on the other. A rarity.

Poor fecking Spurs fans, team in serious relegation trouble and they make a massive announcement that they've teamed up with Peppa Pig for merch. They're getting slaughtered online

I mean, what are they at?

Parker leaves Burnley about 6 months too late.

Burnley fans despised him for being so negative so I can't see him rocking up at Stamford Bridge. At Least Kompany tried to play ball and get a result and not hope to 0-0 his way to safety. Parker will end up somewhere like WBA or Sheffield Utd.

I thought they might keep him for the promotion push and then get rid but I see you say now he was hated.

Parker seems to keep coming up short once he gets to PL level.

So on that basis I would absolutely love Chelsea to take the punt on him

Pretty amusing in the title race both City and Arsenal will have final days games against teams with a possible European final just before or just after.

If Villla win Europa league 4 days before going to City you would expect them to have been on the piss for a day or 2.

Palace could have Conference league final 3 days after hosting Arsenal so expect them to play the kids on last day of season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,854 ✭✭✭✭breezy1985

What's the point of him leaving with 4 games to go. Is it just for show.

Apparently Burnley would like to get Craig Bellamy, who was there under Kompany, but he wants to lead Wales for the 2028 Euros. That looks like a no-brainer decision there. After that, options include Steven Gerrard and Cork native, Brian Barry-Murphy, who has steered Cardiff City back into the Championship. If I were BBM, I think I'd stay with the Bluebirds, where he's known, and will know his squad, and probably already has planned for a season up in the Championship.

Budget restraints might have Burnley having to hold a fire sale in the summer. Teams in the lower half of the EPL could do worse than look at Esteve, Hannibal and Flemming.

Even if Villa need points for CL qualification we have no chance of getting anything at City away

Apparently Mudryk was given a 4 year ban for doping back in January…..but it was never revealed to anyone

It's only after he appealed to CAS this week that anyone has found out that he was banned in the first place.

Bit mad. If he wins the appeal he'll be back at the start of next season likely, if it fails then it's likely December 2028 (4 year ban backdated to initial suspension)

Still under contract at Chelsea until 2031
