Donnie's clapping seals on here have this really bizarre trait of holding random posters on an internet forum to a higher standard than the actual president of the United States.

I'd love one of them to explain why but unfortunately none of them ever have.

The man got nowhere near Trump…. The Ballroom is a display of ego more than anything and it's highly unlikely for a US president to never do another event that is external to the white house.

That was some time, wasn't it? A man cheats on his with an adult in the Oval Office and it rocks the nation. Now, Trump is essentially the worst human being in the world and the fans just chant "TDS" whenever he is criticised.

What is the rationale for a ballroom preventing assassination attempts or fake assassination attempts? Is it more bleach stuff.

Think he was expecting more sympathy on the 60 minutes interview. He denies being both a paedophile and rapist. The latter he most definitely is and seems to be living in a lala land where he was exonerated. I'm sure somebody will arrive in to claim he was exonerated now.

It's ironic that you quote a post that points out irony and yet you don't see the irony in you pointing out that someone hasn't backed up their assertions.

One thing is absolutely clear here from this near disaster and that the secret service needs to be a stand-alone body free from total DHS control and interference. FFA got it right in his instant criticism of the federal security screen at the hotel, that he saw the gaps; itself so telling. He was able to get a booking at the hotel, itself nothing unusual except for the fact that it was intended for use as the White House Press Corp annual event with the president as the guest of honour on the same day.

If the FFA had been a suicide bomber instead of a shotgun carrier, it could have been a reprise of the Grand Hotel Brighton bombing with a complete destruction of the Trump Administration. The blame for the risk to Trump et al lies with the top members of the Admin itself in the way they rule the security aspect; publicity over protection. Its given those writing the handbook on how to kill a president a manual for free. Listening to Trump on one of the interviews after the fact is telling. He gave a very sober relay on what happened, without trying to build it up, which made clear he knew how lucky he was that the FFA was only carrying firearms.

I suspect you're probably right, but I just don't see anybody coming up behind Trump that's going to be able to maintain the personality cult. Trump, for all his repulsiveness, is at least able to do that, but Vance? Hegseth? Patel? Miller? The Tech Bros? I don't see it.

Outside of North Korea, which is obviously it's own special case, personality cults collapse when the personality dies, and collapse looks to me the most probable future for the Trump cult. It might take time, of course, and there will no doubt be further unpleasantness on the way to getting there, but collapse is the future.

I hate myself for making this comparison but when Alexander the Great died, his generals, family and friends immediately disregarded his will and began a long struggle for control of the empire.

Trump is the galvanising force, the glue that holds MAGA together. Without him, you just have a load of deeply toxic men who will turn on each other once he dies. I suspect that JD Vance, with Thiel's backing, will be the successor but he won't have the same hold over the base that Trump has.

hilariously, Vance finding Catholicism will also put some of the Christian maga fundies off him

Definitely right on the comparison I would say, although I share your opinion of making it. Also right on the coming MAGA civil war. I personally don't believe that Trump has a successor lined up, his fragile ego and narcissism would be incapable of accepting even a suggestion that somebody else might be able to take over.

SCOTUS blocks Trump from using the IEEPA to introduce tariffs. 9-0 vote.

Mad timing, the week the loons in the Maga Sphere start amplifying the assassination attempts were false flags, this happens.

I doubt it, see the lax security at Mar-a-lago previously, this administration doesn't take security seriously, it's cause and effect.

They ask for these type of setups and then immediately look for scapegoats when it inevitably falls apart.

Apart from when the guy who actually took a shot at him was a registered Republican, but yes 'it's always them'.

Vance would loose the rapist/pedo part of the base, but gain the couch fetish folk. Would that be enough?

I can't find any other sources for this. I would have thought MS NOW would be all over it?

In fairness that's a fair point.

The ballroom for the WHCD is in a Hilton hotel and the security is in the foyer for anybody arriving for the event

But because it's in a hotel anyone, including the shooter, can book into the hotel and already be beyond the security control. In this case he checked in days before. Apparently it's a thing for guests to go downstairs to try to spot famous journalists or lawmakers or just observe the fashion of people going to the gala.

So I don't think Trump is saying it's safer because there's no rooms physically above it. He's making the point that at the White House it's not a public setting whereas at the Hilton you have rooms available for the public to book in the same building

I'd be very surprised if they allow this again in the future. Yes you could argue they could vet and search guests better but I do think it's a fair point to question why you have such an important gathering of people in a public hotel in the first place, which strengthens the argument for a venue at the White House

The only things I see people reaching at is that Trump has never attended this annual dinner before as President, he boycotted it even in his first term. So the "why go now?" question feeds into their narrative. As well as the Polymarket bets with people making money off him not speaking....though I think the most anyone made was $80k which is a lot less than the insider stuff we saw with oil prices/ceasefire/Venezuela

Not condoning or endorsing the conspiracy theory, I think these arguments are weak. But just laying out the points I've seen as a response to your question

Oh, the base will shrink to some degree as whichever successor will find themselves inevitably wanting in comparison to the OG.

There was a spike in searches for Cole Allen hours before this "assassination attempt".

Interestingly, this spike was in Israel. This thread on Reddit talks about it:

It was a loaded question by her.

He was found not guilty of Rape by the court.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 431 ✭✭somenergy

So the shooter was calling out the rapist and likely a pedo who won't release the trump-epstein files because he is already knee deep

While the media are happy to gourge on freebies and endorse a lying man who has castigated their mainly female colleagues for ask a question public have a right to know and voters most dont respect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,082 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

And the judge said it can legitimately be called rape cause it matches the classification of rape in plenty of jurisdictions. It was unclear if he digitally penetrated or if it was his penis and there was absolutely no consent, so that's not so bad? Downgrading it to a serious sexual assault doesn't make it sound much better btw and you'd probably call that a loaded question too. Also if I recall correctly, you rejected the ruling entirely and repeatedly implied his victim was a liar.

Rape was only used in circumstances where a penis penetrates.

She couldn't tell the difference between his penis and his finger, and that was the only reason it wasn't deemed rape.

However, when the genius appealed, the appellate judge said that in the modern vernacular, yes - he did rape her on the balance of probabilities.

Two own goals by him and his cultists.

Can you stop this nonsense now?
