How to organise a courier to collect something from N.I. to bring to Dublin?

I am looking at purchasing a relatively small [8ft x 6ft] used greenhouse in Northern Ireland but I'm not sure how i would get it down to Dublin. It is already dismantled.

Would I be better using a man with a van, or something like DPD or are there any other better options? Also any idea roughly what sort of price I should be looking at?

My main issue is that I have no idea at all where to even start enquiring about asking a courier company to collect it or the procedure involved as I have no experience with something like this.

Are there any local courier companies in Tyrone that could collect and deliver it for me?

Any recommendations with advice gratefully appreciated.

There would be VAT due even if it is second hand, so I wouldn't think couriers would take it, in case it would need to be customs cleared at the border. Plus it's probably extremely messy to handle. Better hiring a van yourself and collecting it.

Edited: Sorry there is no VAT coming directly from NI

If you have a tow bar on your car or have access to one then borrow/hire a builders trailer for a day and collect. Bring plenty of rope or better still ratchet straps

    How is it currently packed?

Standard couriers like DPD would require it to be packed properly not just individual pieces.

Check done deal for man with van service.

But they'll want €100+ to make it worth their while.

And I'd be wary buying a secondhand greenhouse without seeing it.

    Not worth the hassle IMO

Thanks all. I have decided not to go for it in the end. The €100+ 'man with a van' didn't scare me off, as it still works out relatively cheap.

I found out that it is still not disassembled properly (or at all), and the seller whom I was planning on buying it from has a similar name on another platform, decent reviews, but not good for time or deadlines. Which would not be great when relying on a courier.

Thank you everyone for your replies and advice and help.
