It's a little odd that the gunman was completely uninjured in the incident. Wouldn't one have expected him to be shot at least, if not killed. How did agents manage to disarm an armed gunman and place him under arrest without shooting him?

I can but the issue is I'd generally be left leaning in terms of overall issues but definitely right leaning on certain issues. A lot of Americans who are trump supporters might be similar to me. They're not all the MAGA cult type so it's ridiculous to tar all with the same brush. Likewise for leftists. The majority of people are either centre right or left and I'd guess the vast majority of people aren't keeping anywhere as near up-to-date on politics as we do on the boards bubble.

I even find myself completely out of the loop here in terms of the political lingo. I had to Google TACO last week FFS 🙈

The left have a huge problem that needs to be addressed. Even this thread is a mirror showing the acceptance, celebration and justification of political violence that has infected the left.

It appears to be getting worse. Which of course lefty posters here will say thats due to Trumps actions and thats why he deserves x, y and z.

Trump will be gone from the White House for good in a few years. I can't fathom how some posters here will rejoin society in a post Trump era. The hatred is so ingrained into their DNA.

It seems the person arrested has referred to himself as the Friendly Federal Assassin in his writings so it can be taken that he was intent on harming members of Trumps federal administration team in the hotel. As to whether he was intent on killing one person over another, eg Trump over Vance or a Dept head aint certain yet as he was caught before arriving at the media event. All we can do is work up a thesis and debate if it was Trump he was after. At the moment, its to Trumps benefit to push the thesis that he was the intended victim. He made it plain that he sees himself as a martyr with his statement that the FFA was targetting Christians to gather in any Christian MAGA heads annoyed with his likening himself to Jesus Christ.

One point has become abundently clear and that is that the federal close security teamwork worked at the hotel. The would-be killer did not make it to where he wanted to be to do what he wanted to do and he is as alive and healthy as is the agent he fired upon when he tried to rush the security checkpoint in the hotel and was stopped in his tracks. There were no fatalities at this media event.

There will be queues stretching for miles full of people wanting to piss on Trump's grave when he dies. Only a fraction of those people could even remotely be described as 'left'.

Also, it would be naiave in the extreme to think that the drive for a Christian theocracy will end with Trump's demise. You won't get all that toothpaste back in the tube.

Consider that one of the most ferocious and effective critics of Trump is one Michael McDowell, not hitherto known for his distinguished career in Labour, the Greens or Sinn Fein.

Their entire world is online and in the eco chamber of the MAGA bs, the poor souls are lost in a web of horseshit, no saving these lads imo

Now that we have some Trumpists back from wherever they hide; do you think it might be possible if some of them could comment on any of the actions of the Trump admin currently destabilising the globe, instead of jerking off to the Mango Mussolini "surviving another assassination/whatever that was attempt".

Anyone Trumpists out there willing to comment on his continued failure to relase the Epstine files? His utter disastrous and chaotic Iran war? His spats with the Pope? His increasingly obvious dementia? His chaotic chorus line of the dregs of humanity in his administration? His obvious grift and never ending enrichment of himself at the expense of his own citizens? His disastrous tarriff wars? Not forgetting his Olympic gold medal winning non stop serial lying. Anything at all?
