Like Greenland I'm not convinced the US will actually do anything with the Falklands but that's an easier situation considering they wouldn't be taking it for themselves, instead giving to an ally in Argentina.

The UK is at its weakest ever currently with most of it's Navy understaffed and in dry dock. Starmer was recently trying to give Chagos away and pay billions to rent it. If the Americans forced it's transfer with Argentina paying a few billion to purchase I don't think Starmer would do anything.

This is already a lot of assumptions and I don't believe it'll happen but assuming it does could the north of Ireland be next on his target list?

Trump clearly doesn't give a **** about optics. I wouldn't put it past him going after Cuba post Iran but the Falklands coming into his cross hairs made me think of our occupied North. Could be a once in a generation opportunity for us.

I don't see it happening but I'd like the U.K Foreign Sceretary to diplomatically and regretfully inform the U.S ambassador late on Sunday that the U.K head of state will not be proceeding with his state visit to the U.S this month as a result of comments made by the U.S head of state about U.K territory been surrendered by the U.S to Argentina, with an inadvertent leak to the media of the King, on U.K Govt advice, declining to make the visit.

Trump knows nothing about the Falklands (or any other place in the world from Greenland to Albania) and cares less. He was thrashing around looking for some issue that he could use to bash Britain and some flunkey provided him with the name. We can expect some deranged posts about Ceuta and Melilla shortly.

It's not about understanding anything. Trump just feels slighted because the UK has a vastly superior leader (low bar, sure) who isn't going to commit his country to Trump's latest debacle. Anyone else would just move on.

I doubt more than 1% even know what the Hagia Sophia even is.
