I know we've Spurs and Burnley next 2 games in Prem League, and really we only need 1 win tto be mathemically sure of Champ League - but still you gotta show some pride

They could have pretty much wrapped it up today. Go 11 points clear and I don’t think Brighton or Bournemouth think they can claw that back, but they have hope now

Where are Villa as they approach another semi final under Emery. 5th in the leauge, which sounds great but in in reality Chelsea and Liverpool have been woeful this season and so have United for over half of it, but they are comfortably in 3rd. Still Villa are in the Champions Leauge spots which is a good managerial feat given the lack of depth in the squad. The team is not as good as some think and not as bad as some results suggest, they are somewhere in between. That should leave them a bit ahead of Forest, but with Forest hitting form and Villa hit and miss, that narrows the gap again. Villa's tendency to unravel when an opportunity comes for a statement win makes this a 50/50 contest. If Villa have everyone available they are capable of putting out a quality 11, impact off the bench is the issue. It hard to call this one and extra time and penalties could be very likely.

Huge problems in the squad at the moment, in particular with depth, but CL money goes a long way towards helping with fixing that.

I’m indifferent to other teams form or performances and try not to overanalyse things, we’re top 5 simply because after 34 games we’re better than the other 15.

But yes agree about Forest I see a draw at their place I don’t see us losing in 90 at VP but maybe knocked out on penalties, hopefully I’m wrong

I don't quite get this Villa awful, Forest on fire narrative.

Yes Villa lost to Fulham, but that was to their only shot, while we obviously had 1 eye on Thursday - you think if we needed a win Tielemans and McGinn would have been taken off. Prior to that we'd cruised against Bologna, beaten Sunderland in an unnecessarily tense way but outplayed them mostly, and completely controlled to game vs West Ham.

Meanwhile Forest had a big win vs Sunderland, where Sunderland completely shot themselves in the feet with 2 gifted early goals, had to come back late vs a terrible Burnley team that then collapsed, a 1 goal win vs 10 man Porto, but prior to that draws and losses.

Meanwhile we only faced them recently in a game mostly memorable for Rogers and Watkins late misses.

And despite their wins recently, they are still looking over their shoulder at relegation and have a tough Chelsea trip over weekend, and a good few injuries. Do they go gung ho Thursday and risk Sunday, even more pertinent is if it's close after this Thursday, and they lose to Chelsea how do they approach Villa Park next week.

Meanwhile Villa need only 1 more win for Champions League, with Spurs and Burnley next, we're not in a do or die situation. Beating Spurs would be brilliant and so many levels, but getting the win vs Burnley would also do

We're well on course for Champions League and in a European Semi final.

I don't think things are that bad actually.

Feeling nervous about tonight…would love to see us win a trophy…it's been way too long

Forest missing some important players tonight. A real opportunity to take advantage with Onana back.

I think the ref has to make an onfield decision of a card. It can only be downgraded from a red to a yellow but not upgraded from nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,357 ✭✭✭✭CSF

No idea how it wasn’t a red

I really wish Beundia would just up his overall game by 20%. He's a passenger and then when he's in the game a terrible ball to Rogers.

NIl nil is fine, they have been the better team, Anderson dominant, Digne offers no threat for the amount ball he gets, Bundeia is not good enough, Rogers quiet. Nil nil at 90 would do nicely

Watching the replay of that tackle again. It's as clear a red as ever you'd see. Over the ball, reckless and makes clear and forceful contact on Watkins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 615 ✭✭✭keeponrockin

It was a red and then the power went..could some kind sole please DM me a way to watch🙈..Thanks lads

Bogarde....why??? Unai must have zero faith in Luiz

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 872 ✭✭✭rebelomar

Ive no idea why he has Beundia and Bogarde on the pitch. It's absolutely baffling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 600 ✭✭✭cgorzy

Having a better spell but we are so loose with possession we can’t build any momentum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,202 ✭✭✭Patser

    Just get Buendia off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,357 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Between him, Tammy, Guessand, Malen and Elliot, the ratio of signing players and almost never wanting to play them is extremely high. Goes a long way towards explaining why Buendia gets so many minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,202 ✭✭✭Patser

Jaysus, why had Digne his hands up...but its in by mm

If they'd have taken that time to review Anderson's foul then they'd have been down to ten.
