The vibe is, if you set up a low block against Bohs, they will not be able to beat you.

Derry have moved from the worst pitch in the league to the worst pitch in the league.

Ref bottled second yellow for Droghedas Gorden, he was looking right at it , awful stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,140 ✭✭✭PGE1970

Replays showed it was shin on shin. It wasn't a yellow.

ah stop, I rewound it and commentator thinks he’s blessed.

Lunney had passed the ball and the Drogs player went through him, yellow pretty much most times.

The commentator is a Shels fan and Richie Baker is a former Shels player.

Even Richie, after crying for a second yellow, admitted that it was shin on shin. No stamp, no over the top and no foot off the ground.

You won't need to beat ten men. We're awful with eleven.

Shin on shin means nothing when it’s only one player running through another. It was a yellow

    Very sloppy game in Derry

The old Brandywell pitch is arguable better than both Celtic park and the new artificial turf.

That has to be it for O’Brien.
2 nil lead against a struggling side. Even duffer can’t defend that

Well that was quite a second half in Tolka.

I have no idea how we did that. Crazy 45 minutes.

How we didn't win that game in the first half I'll never know. Waterford were absolutely atrocious, as bad as I've seen in many a year first half. We should have scored 3 or 4. Then we do nothing second half and get sucker punched with the last kick of the game. Sick.

I say this every week but I’ve no idea how Joey O’Brien is still a manager in the LOI

Pats a mile better than Bohs tonight and the 3-1 win was well deserved as is there position on top of the table. They look like the team everyone thought they would be last season and it'll be interesting to see where they go from here.

Another bad night for Boh's. The only saving grace is that things are currently worse for Shels.

As a club Boh's seem happy with mid table stability, perhaps as they prepare for a few years without a home ground. Reynolds will give them that with a relatively cheap squad. It is what it is.

Poor game on an awful pitch in Derry. It's not often you see Rovers go long and have such poor passing stats, but Derry deserved the win so credit to them.

It's actually disgraceful what we are watching week in week out from this team (Blues)

"People say ‘go with the flow’ but do you know what goes with the flow? Dead fish."

Ye were an utter shambles in that first half, disorganised, no effort, no ability in the ball. But ye were at least able to move the ball a bit better with McMenamy and McLaughlin in the second half. Our inability to see out a game or to kill teams off was our undoing again.

Can’t see him lasting much longer with this. The team falls apart every week , I wasn’t even surprised and I know many feel the same.

No idea how he didn’t go after the Dundalk game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,846 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Seen several of your fans online absolving him of blame and putting it on the players "letting him down" which I don't agree with. He hasn't shown anything as a manager to deserve that kind of leeway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,357 ✭✭✭✭CSF

You’ll always get that unfortunately. He’s surely gone this weekend.

Really disappointed by Bohs again. After such a great start to the season, it is going horribly wrong now. No win in 7 now. Form guide on flashscore.com is last 5 games. Looking at the table, we would be last. Even Shels ahead of us on last 5.

There's a few passengers in the team. DJT can get his CV done up for a start. How he has got in ahead of Whelan in last two games baffles me.

Tierney is out of form and has to be dropped. Rooney did sod all tonight as well. Myers should get a run in the team. At least he is not afraid to take on his man.

We need to fluke a win soon just to stop the rot. Otherwise another frustrating and wasted season ahead. We should be much better than this with the squad we have.

Excellent win for Pats, especially after being caught cold and conceding after just 8 seconds, which was mental. A few excellent performances, Edmondson, Luke Turner, Cian Leavy. Aidan Keena must have broken a few mirrors somewhere, he's one of the unluckiest players I've seen with injuries. off after 20 minutes tonight. Git played well when he came on though. If we can get Palmer, Power, Keena and Mata consistently fit we might actually mount a challenge this year.

It was a historic night in Derry, and a great result to cap it off, but jesus that pitch is really making me yearn for the plastic!

I know before hand it would be a leveler. Rovers couldn't get playing football at all, and it was always going to suit us better when it turned into a very scrappy game.

Have to watch 4 more games on that terrible surface. But needs must unfortunately.

    Back to back wins.

Not much to add to this really, once we equalised we dominated that match and we really could have scored one or two more. Was delighted to see Chorsaka's "injury" stunt backfiring on Reynolds, that's the 2nd time this season that teams doing that crap have been punished with an immediate concession against us this season (happened with Sligo earlier). Top of the league again but still a long way to go and we've four away games in the next six matches.

Also Devoy for Ireland.......no! It should be Leavy for Ireland instead!
