For me it's club, province then country. I care a lot more about Connacht than Ireland.

Let's just concentrate on our province.

And please stop saying Lancaster will be the Irish coach soon. He only got here and we want him here for a long time.

It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Ireland has never put that kind of consistent run of success tiogether before.

For what it's worth, I don't actually think Lancaster would want the Ireland job.

    Anyway, back to Connacht.

In fairness Connacht put different coaches up for media each week. It's not like he is doing every press conference

I know I have been giving out about the ticketing a lot this season - but the renewals are a bit of a shambles.

When using the relocation window, if they are holding back all season ticket seats that have not been renewed, how do I know which seats are going to be available as a result of non-renewals.

Surely you should renew your own tickets first and then everyone who has paid gets first dibs on any seats that become free as a result of non-renewals.

In order to move to a better spot you have to take the risk of losing your own current seats.

The number of empty stand seats in the Women's match was frustrating to see as well. There was plenty of appetite for them from the general public.

From the email about the renewal windows

To reassure you, there will be a short protected period within Window 2 that allows you to keep your existing seat while also giving you the opportunity to select a different available seat. We will communicate full details of this process closer to the opening of the second window

So will still be able to keep your existing place initially during the relocation window

has anyone ever been able to contact connacht on any email and get a reply?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,405 ✭✭✭MarinersBlues

If all season ticket holder seats are reserved, whether they have been renewed or not, then what seats will be available?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,405 ✭✭✭MarinersBlues

It also looks like the equivalent of a block of seats have been upgraded to category 1 from category 2 since the first email.

cardiff v Ospreys tomorrow will be of interest. they play Glasgow and stormers in their last two games so if they don't win tomorrow they are in a spot of bother

Well worth a listen to the latest 42 podcast.

    Dedicated 40 mins about Connacht.

Style of play, Why they are keeping the ball in-play, workrate, Contact work (tied for dominant carries in the URC), clinical (over 3points per entry), the Lancaster driven improvement, Kinsella a big fan of Shane Bolton (Contact & Enforcer), how Harry West was popping up everywhere from 14, how he tackled well, kicked well.

Defensive sets, staying connected, style of tackling (punching into tackle, hard wrap of the arms), 2nd in dominant tackles in URC, beleif in defence, caught out sometimes (Stormers) around the ruck.

They also indicate that SHL is 'likely to be retained'.

Lions game - good outcome if they can get a BP.

    -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.

I dont see Connacht getting anything from Lions game myself

    Connacht: L v Lions, W v Munster, W v Edin, 2BP = 54 pts

One thing on the dominant carries, volume based stats are going to be distorted by the fact we play more phases than pretty much anyone in the league. When you look at dominant carries as a percentage South African teams always lead the rest of the league.

Best hope for the weekend might be sneaking a four try BP in a high scoring game. Something similar to Ulster's 49-31 loss a few months back.

I think connacht should go all out to score tries. Think they will fare much better then Glasgow did

Fantastic news about SHL if true. Do you need to pay a sub to listen to that pod? If not a link would be greatly appreciated

I do but apparently my Pakistani family can't access it 😂

You don't need a VPN when you are using it. You can use it anywhere in the world. You just need to be home when you renew it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,000 ✭✭✭b.gud

Yeah I know I don't use a VPN to access it but for some reason when I click on the links for the 42 on Spotify they don't work

thanks for that.gud. the reference to SHL was mentioned and in no way confirmed

Yes they make that point: Quantity-Stats.

They are really highlighting the Quality and Why they are also using their decent sized backs (Bolton, Ford, Bundee) off 9 in conjunction with the BR - Keeping ball in-play, good power in carry and contact, smashing rucks, workrate etc.etc.

Lancaster is by far and away the best coach at the Provinces. Love to see the the younger players getting allot of game time and thriving under him.

May well get a Try BP, now that yous say it; I see Ulster & Dragons both managed it in Ellis Park. Glasgow only managed 2 tries & Lions scored 8!

This time last year Lions won 26-7. This year: 33-21?

(edit -see you have a link). Fingers crossed SHL happens.

Jansen-SHL-Prendergast and Boyle (The unsung hero) Is an excellent BR.

Interested to see how Gavin gets on in his first start at 12 for us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,054 ✭✭✭Zeugnis

Looking forward to seeing that bench come on nice and early.

Hope to see Bohan scrummage against Ntlabakanye who is enormous, so a good test.

Its all about the starters holding us in the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,806 ✭✭✭ElisaAtWar

Cardiff only got 4 points and in the end lucky to get them. so they are not of the equation for 9th

Connacht 7/1 today, I'm on them again.

The Lions play very unstructured rugby, you can beat them with smart rugby and we've been playing smart lately.

The team is a little weak looking though. We just need to keep it close until the bench gets on the field.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 42,997 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Godammit, hole in the middle of the line and they get over. We started well but an early try for them is bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,422 ✭✭✭testtech05

Disaster after all that pressure to not score and then conceed. Looked like a forward pass near the end then there too

Dominating possession and territory, two great chances to score both spurned.

Stupid penalty from Gavin right at the end of the half and they scored from.it to go in 21-0 ahead.

    Just unbelievable.

I gotta say I thought the Lions collapsed the maul on our goal line drive.

We are not getting anything out of this one.

The Lions will play champagne rugby in the second half now.
