Summer work for 17 year old boy

Has anyone any ideas of where a 17 yesr old can get summer work? I've heard around that it's very difficult for this age group to get part time work? What's the best way of getting work does anyone know? Do they still look for paper cvs?

Depends massively on where you are based tbh. If in an urban area, get him to do up a load of "cv's" and to a letter drop to businesses that are primarily consumer based outfits - retail, builders providers, etc.
