That pats rovers game was pretty forgettable overall. Mata looked fairy poor in his cameo.

I'd have thought Joey is the next natural fit than Duff. He was a big part of bringing Rovers under Bradley to success as a player with his attitude and professionalism.

If Shels were to dispense with his services...

Jaysus, will happily let you have him if we can have duffer back

We got a draw against Dundalk, but not sure how.

I have never seen us string as few passes together as tonight. We looked like a bunch of guys you'd see down at your local 5aside. Truly awful stuff.

Conditions were terrible, but that doesn't excuse what I had to watch.

There's an American lad on twitter (student in Germany though) who manages Galway in FM and he had travelled over for their game tonight. Poor fella.

It wasn't a great night for football bit it was a fairly exciting game. Thought yis were fortunate enough to get the draw as we missed some glorious chances in the second half.

Yeah it was a pretty poor game. Rovers probably the better side overall (which I'll admit through gritted teeth) but having said that, only a wicked deflection gave them their goal and aside from Graham Burkes effort I cant recall them having many other chances. Edmondson had two chances one on one with the keeper which he couldn't take, so on another night we might have nicked a point.

Gary O'Neill's sudden and lengthy absence from the Rovers squad was explained today in a raw interview on the club's YouTube channel. He was faced with a devastating health diagnosis last October and spent the end of 2025 and early 2026 undergoing treatment which thankfully was successful.

No matter who we support and whether we spent today delighted or pissed off after results last night, Gary's story is a stark reminder that at the end of the day nothing is more important that health. Here's to seeing him back on a LOI pitch at some stage this season. There will be some cheer when it happens.

Kept it private too which I respect. Nothing wrong with going public but obviously just wanted to deal with the treatment and overcome it which he has thankfully.

Hopefully see him back in the not too distant future.

Over 8000 tickets sold for Rovers v Bohs, looks it'll be close to a full house.

If you can't sell that out, you can't sell any out.

has been since before Covid in fairness.

Best I've ever seen it, on a regular basis. I've been going since the late 90s, and even when Shels were conquering Europe in the 00s you'd have Tolka Park heaving midweek for the likes of Steaua, but then 200 lads in the place for a match vs Derry.

At the moment, it's always 4k+ for games, often closer to 5k and now with the Drumcondra Stand open again close to 6.5k in for the really big games

it's great to see, and it's going to continue to grow as the population increases too. There are 7.1m people on the island now, compared to 5.6m in 2001

There are 18m people in The Netherlands and the Eredivise has about 19k average gate. I think as the population grows in Ireland we will see the gates continue to grow, and that breeds interest like a domino affect. Already in my kids class in school (5th class) there are about four or five lads who regularly attend LOI games with their parent(s), and on his football team too there are a couple of lads going to matches too.

When I was his age, I don't think I knew anyone who went to LOI, not on my own team nor in my class. It's fairly normalised now, I think.

Defo positive signs. I was going to matches on my own barely few years ago. Now two of my sons come, I’m bringing a son’s friend and another one of my friends started getting a season ticket with his son to come to games with me. Tonight yet another friend and his son will be going to their first match in Tolka (I’ve been at friends for awhile to go).

Can’t get over how many tourists I see at Tolka on match day, we should keep that up. John Brennnan is just a superb ambassador for the club , I hope every club has a lad like him promoting them and the league will be in good hands.

It helps that coverage and clips are easily available online. Even the Bohs assist last Friday went far and wide.

They are not gatekept to those who go and those who are up at 11pm on the following Monday for a brief catch up.

Great to hear he is doing well. I work with someone close to him and they knew little.

Surprise in Rovers line up, no Matt Healy. Great opportunity for John O'Sullivan.

    3-0 to Pats at ht.

We're missing five key players but that doesn't excuse how poor we are. Dreadful effort so far.

Disappointing to lose in Dundalk but they're an excellent side. Probably the most cohesive attacking team we've faced this season. They create so many chances. Great mix of youth and experience in the team. Kilduff is going a great job there.

Very entertaining game in Tallaght. Boez unlucky in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭budgemook

Yeah was a great game to watch on telly. Bohs really should have gotten at least a draw IMO. Danny Grant very good for Rover's, Boh's should never have let him leave.

    Completely expected.

Shels shooting themseleves in foot yet again. Our own worst enemies. Can’t even get animated about questionable corner for their first or whether our dissaolowed second was actually offside. Shels do enough to lose games, don’t need officials adding to it
