I can just picture the Timeless Toni Storm media in the build up to the Ronda vs Gina fight on Netflix and even seeing her at the event itself in full Timeless mode.

It’s looking like Ospreay is back working with NJPW on a regular basis as of this weekend. Another one of those duel contracts and NJPW does need a bit of start power at the moment.

Must say Tony Khan came across very well on The Coach And Bro!Link above!

They were alot more respectful towards Tony than I thought they would be and good to see them ask some interesting questions compared to the rubbish he is asked at Media Scrums!

So Jericho turned down a retirement run in WWE to effectively do his old WWE gimmick in AEW

Is this the first week where they used the WWE method of not having a main event planned and just seeing what happens at the start of the show?

bit of a shocker last night!

I feel like Darby winning could have been built up to be a bigger moment, he definitely should have been the AEW champion at some point but this just felt rushed, as soon as Sting showed up it was in the cards. I just don't think it was the right moment to pull the trigger.

I'm guessing MJF is filming a movie or something and they needed to free him up immediately.

Tbh since Darby came back he has been calling out MJF. I can definately see Darby dropping the title back to MJF at Double or Nothing, then lead to Osprey vs MJF at All In? Nice moment for Darby in his hometown although was trying to avoid spoilers

I'm really happy for Darby. I do agree it was rushed and kinda outta nowhere. Definitely could have built it up better, but cool moment for Darby nonetheless.

Can't help but think it's interesting that they pulled the trigger on Darby during Mania week while this McAfee nonsense is happening. They got my attention anyway! I'm absolutely more intrigued for Collision than Smackdown now 🤣

Surprised Kamile didn't win. Was she well over a year absent? Then this? Oof 😕

Everyone has been calling out MJF, that was the point of the story early on, that everyone had him in their crosshairs but their direct programme was basically this week and that's it. I'm sorry it feels rushed. Calling the champ out a lot doesn't make for a good programme. If Ciampa beat Darby next week would we be saying the same thing? He called out the winner of this match after all.

It's not that it's bad or an angering decision but it could and I think should have been much more. There was a time for the belt to be put on Darby and I think they unfortunately missed it (through no fault of their own) and it needed to be built up again, it's a case of them striking after the iron was hot. I just think Darby is a great underdog chaser and him trying to become champion for the first time could have been so much more.

I definitely think it's a short stint, I think Ospreay/Omega is the Wembley programme. Not sure how we get there yet though.

with MJF and Omega going the distance last week and the belt being retained, this weeks title change just felt wrong if im honest.. with it being such a short match, it felt like a punishment to MJF to lose so cheaply and clean to Darby.

i agree with all the above, Darby deserves the title but it should have been made a bigger deal than this..

Their direct programme has been going on since AEW began. Even pre AEW. AEW isn't WWE where people just forget their history every PPV cycle. They even played multiple video packages on the show for those who haven't been fans since the promotion began. Also MJF paid off Don Callis weeks ago to deal with Darby, that led to the Darby Andrade match at the PPV that they all but called a #1 contender's match. This was then paid off in the opening segment of Dynamite, so to say their "direct programme" only began this week is wrong on multiple levels. Darby beating MJF with a side headlock takeover is a story that's been built for 6 years now

MJF also lost Brody King about two months ago in minutes this shows he can be caught out early in matches due to his cockiness. The headlock takeover finish to this match has been there for anyone to see for months if not years in the rivalry between these two.

I'm delighted for Darby but I felt it was too much by the end. Crowd was electric for tye scorpion death drop and first coffin drop, then became a bit more muted after each additional one. I think the crowd were expecting interference and can't blame them.

Having history isn't the same as working a programme together. The programme is the build to a match or pay-off. Or at least that's my understanding of it, open to correction there. So calling back to the start of AEW and their interactions and history is fine but it doesn't excuse a weak build to a match. I know they've history, I've watched AEW from the start, they're two of the four pillars like. They had a match against each other on the indies and they've had a few multi-man matches. They had one singles match against each other nearly five years ago. Acting like that means it's a a well built feud is ridiculous.

When I say direct programme, I mean them actually interacting or cutting promos on one another. Yes, I know Don Callis and MJF cut a deal for Andrade to deal with Darby. To just immediately rush it into a title match and for Darby to win the title so quickly is a mistake in my opinion. That moment could have and should been built up more, that's all my point is.

We won't agree, that's just how I feel about it.

Perfectly done, Darby called him out when he won his no.1 contender match, MJF barely wrestles and he loses when he is not prepared, thats the whole point of darby's call out.

MJF is such a giving wrestler, always willing to put people over and he comes back stronger for it, the blue trunks was a nice touch and a nod to when sting won his first wcw title beating a blue trunked flair

MJF is off for a bit to do a movie but i still see him in the title picture by the time All in comes around

So Jericho is just going by Jericho now? I guess that'll be an easier transition than Edge to Cope

Dynamite was was pretty good but that main event took it to another level, an absolute banger.

Would love to see Ciampa get the title at some point, not anytime soon though.

That was a fantastic episode of dynamite last night top class actual wrestling.

Rebel has revealed after two years of medical tests they finally diagnosed her with terminal ALS. Poor woman.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,591 ✭✭✭ThePott

Incredibly sad. That video is heartbreaking, poor woman. Lost an aunt that had a motor neuron disease, I just hope Rebel has a good support system around her and as she said that she passes as peacefully as possible.

I hope AEW do something to show her how loved she is by the locker room or to raise awareness of ALS.

If nothing else though it seems to be implied that Tony Khan has been providing support for her throughout this. Which is incredibly honourable and kind.

That's absolutely awful. Lost Eric Dane to ALS this year too. His documentary is a terrifying (and incredibly sad) insight into what ALS does and how quickly it (generally) attacks everything the person once was.

Sorry that you had to go through that too, @ThePott

Tony S giving a lovely message to Rebel from AEW on the hour mark last night

AEW filming of shows has gotten a lot better lately the lighting the angles makes the arenas look full and with the great in ring work the shows are on fire.

Are the Brawling Birds the only women that could take the tag titles? Trying to think what other teams there are that could realistically do it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 421 ✭✭CajunSurprise

So with Kofi and Austin debut at All In?

Could see the MCMG’s debuting there as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,591 ✭✭✭ThePott

I'm not sure if they'll do a double debut for tag teams. I think New Day definitely show up at All In, would be cool to be a late addition to a match. Kinda like Mania 33 but they get introduced into the match.

It turns that AEW is in Detroit shortly after the MCMG's 90 days are, that seems a perfect spot to debut them,

90 days only matters if the talent want to stay home. If MCMG, New Day or anyone reach agreements with AEW they can show up any time. I'd put big money on Creed & Kofi showing up much sooner than later. MCMG can come in anytime and be a welcome addition
