Conversely, I wonder how many people have undiagnosed dyscalculia. Back in the day you were just thick at maths.

How did I watch Gogglebox UK on Friday on YouTube before it was aired on TV?

    things I wonder about

    1. Do animals know it’s Christmas?
    2. Why do ghosts only appear at night according to programs
    3. If ghosts exist Why are there no animal ghosts?
    4. If ghosts exist, why hasn’t Derek Acorah reached out to anyone?

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

They only exist in big old houses and the odd isolated pub.

Hmmmm…..with all the doom and gloom due to events outside our bailiwick going on, one wonders

how so many folk spend ‘loads a munny’ travelling to Spain to watch Cheltenham, to Prague to watch a playoff game, those who promised to fill Croker for a Katie Taylor fight, those who spent sleepless nights

hoping for a Oasis ticket at eye watering prices….etc

I’m sure there’s some explanation but it puzzles me sometimes.

Cos there is still plenty of folk in the country with loadsa money.

how so many people who are some of the most genuinely disruptive, idiotic and malevolent creatures going get awarded and facilitated with positions responsibility and leadership in organisations… I’ll never not be completely mystified about that. 📞🤪

If there are “many people” in that category, hoy up a few examples for us?

Some of these “things you wonder about” are classic! 😄 I’m with you on the back hair one—definitely a “don’t try this at home” curiosity. Also love the bit about your elderly neighbour; people like that are walking reminders that lifestyle, luck, and genes make quite the combo.

This is an ask and answer..things you always wonder about.

I always wondered who is really interest in celeb culture, really TV, influencers and similar nonsense.

Patrick Frayn has a brilliant article in yesterday's Irish Times lampooning some couple from a reality programme called Made in Chelsea, it's brilliant. I'd link it, only id say it's behind a pay wall.

Although a few of the reality types seem to make millions from the nonsense, maybe it's the followers who are the eejits.

    It's called

The conception, birth and first brand partnership of an aristocratic nepo baby.

I think it's always been around and only the medium has changed. There was always gossip about others and especially famous people. Then there were articles about them and 'tattler' style newspapers. Now there are tv shows about them. I'd include soap operas as a slightly different version of the same thing.

It just seems to be part of the human condition to really enjoy this type of stuff. It's definitely not new.

Yes, but did any of the gossiped about make there living from it as in the modern celebrity culture?

I don't know. I'm sure it enhanced their reputation (if it didn't distroy it). Not sure how they could monetise it in the past.

When you come across a female profile on a dating site and she is say 38, no kids but has never had a job so no excuse for not working. I always wonder how they live a life like that, you see pictures of them on holiday, nights out etc is social welfare money paying for it? do they not have low self esteem for never having worked?

I know it it different for men and women but if I as a man was in that position and i was on a dating site, Id say I would get too many women beating down my door looking a for a date.

Its like a time a lady who doesnt work, and hasnt for the 5 plus years i know her, asked me on a date. Im self employed and often go 3 months without a day off.

imagine if i as a man was unemployed for years and asked a self employed woman who works 3 months in a row out.

and I know some lads only care about a womans looks but if the lady was the best looking woman on earth I still wouldnt go out with her. it is really off putting for me if someone doesnt work or want to work.

It's perfectly alright to have.. no passengers as a standard if your looking to meet someone, man or woman, it's all so complicated now I never heard of the no passengers thing untill someone explained it to me.

I don't know any women who isn't working or didn't work before they retired, except for one who was a SAHP and it didn't benefit her in any way very narrow life, a person with a medical condition where they can't work is different.

Maybe you need to look at why you are meeting so many women who don't work for a living.

I haven't met so many of them, I mentioned 1 woman and others I saw on dating sites but didnt talk to them.

What do retailers do with all the stock for which demand instantaneously vanishes - easter eggs, St. Patrick's Day stuff, Valentine's, etc. Years ago you could get heavily discounted easter eggs in the few days after easter, now it disappears overnight with no trace of it on the shelves first thing the next morning.

according to urban myth , unsold chocolate eggs are frozen and resold the following year (must be repackaged too) - you can tell if its been frozen & thawed as it has a white powdery coat in places …..

How do FF/FG keep getting elected when we seem to do nothing but bítch about them?

The alternative (SF, Labour et al) would be worse?

“He fixed the roads” attitude at local level?

People aren’t actually disgruntled, it’s just headlines and noise?

I’m not very well read on politics so I do wonder about that sometimes.

Thank you for bringing Up something I haven’t thought about before. You could stretch your query to include the possibility that there are trans leps too!

The St Pats/Valentines stuff get stored away in most places. A friend works in SV he said they heavily discount the eggs in the few days leading up to easter and there's barely any left after.

Why one of the milkmen in this area is delivering milk at 2.05 am ?

it is currently 9° out in this area according to google. So the milk will be sitting presumably for over 5 hours in quite temperate conditions... that can’t be good and according to google isn’t…
