Woke to the sad news of Moyas death this morning.

    Shocking news.

One of this country's music greats.

    May she rest in peace.

She was on the LLS about a month ago i think on the traditional music special. She looked fine and healthy , I cant believe it .

RIP. Despite mostly preferring other genres of music, I always had a soft spot for a lot of Clannad’s works.

Yes, the salary is enormous, I understand that, but that doesn't affect my soul.

A sad day for people around the county, country and indeed around the world. She was an extremely talented musician and song writer and will be sorely missed. Condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. RIP.

I am quite emotional over all this, maybe due to recent family events and just the shape of the world at the moment.

What an amazing woman, band, family. The music is spiritual, modern, ancient, Irish, universal, timeless, selfless. True art. May she rest in peace. A great gift to the world. God bless Donegal and the Brennan family.

I was just thinking what was the first thing that occurs to me when I think of Moyà/Clannad.

For me it would be that Robin Hood TV series from the 80’s. I would have been a small child then but still remember the theme tune “Robin the hooded Man”.
Even as a child I knew it was different and I knew it was good. Without understanding why.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

*RIP Moya/Maire Brennan. What a wonderful voice she had and what a legacy she left behind.

*I was never on this particular forum before but I did a search for "Moya Brennan" and found this thread. Her death is also referred to in the RIP threads on the Music and TV forums.

The Rolling Wave is on RTE Radio One now, and it's a tribute to Moya.
