What is the biggest city you have been to but never stayed in overnight?

For me it's probably Budapest. I've also been to Leeds, Malmo, Venice, Helsinki, Naples, and Valladolid without staying the night.

Domestically, the biggest for me would be Limerick.

    Galway 🤔

Oh wait no. Is Kilkenny a city? 🤨

    Either of those two anyways.

Stockholm. I lived about half an hour north of it but I used to go in every so often for shopping/socializing. Never stayed there overnight though.

New York. I'm in Köln a lot but stay over further east.

Birmingham. Didn't get to stay over but did enjoy dinner around the canal area.

Spaghetti junction was certainly an experience in a small van for a novice driver.

Milan when Ryanair cancelled the flight from Bergamo.

Amsterdam. Not in any rush to go back if I'm honest. The city just doesn't do it for me.

Could also be Stuttgart, but I never left the train station there, so I'm not sure if that counts…

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Palermo in Sicily. I went to 1990 World Cup and went to irelands matches in the city. We were staying near Catania so after each match, it was back to the bus.

Passed through many cities en route to the port to join a vessel. If you don't count spending a night alongside before sailing, then Mumbai probably the largest of those (or Bombay as it was at the time)

Amsterdam and Brussels. Went on a day trip to the former while staying elsewhere in Holland, and spent a few hours walking around Brussels before flying home (I'd stayed in Ghent which is a lovely city, can't remember anything much about Brussels TBH).

    Do airports count?

I've been to Singapore and Kuala Lumpar airports twice but never left them.

I've been to Miami airport a number of times but never left it.

Brisbane, went for a wander around while staying in Surfers Paradise.

Cologne, went for an afternoon while staying in Dusseldorf.

Kyoto, went for a day while staying in Tokyo for the world cup.

    Hong Kong.

Flew Cathay Pacific, Heathrow to Perth, stopover was in HK for 8hrs.

    Does that count?

Been to Dubai, Atlanta, Detroit and Toronto on stopovers for a few hours each. Toronto was lovely. Never want to see Dubai again. A shopping centre in an oven.

Miami, while visiting in laws in Florida, it was like being in a dystopian nightmare.

Warsaw, (probably the biggest) en route to Krakow, a bit grey, no desire to go back there, Poland has better cities.

Rotterdam, see comments above about Warsaw.

Bologna, a place I would like to go back to.

Florence, been there many times but never stayed there, of the 5 cities mentioned it's the one I know best

Rome. Visited while on a cruise, but didn't overnight. Others included Naples, Marseille, Saint John and Halifax. For the same reason. I know, the latter two are hardly major cities…

Just drove across New York from New Jersey to JFK, so visited but didn’t stay.

Probably Frankfurt or Milan, although the former was the airport only, whereas the latter was just passing through on a train. Otherwise if I go somewhere I generally tend to stay over.

I've been to several of the big ones: Cairo, Istanbul, London, etc, but have stayed over. I haven't been to any of the real Asian or US mega-cities though.
