MAGA $20Bn investment to - Make America Argentina Great Again

Meanwhile US soybean farmers got screwed

Trump's policies have also helped oil revenues to Iran and Russia who have bought up to 50% of a year's GDP of weapons from North Korea. And allowed oil to go to Cuba breaking a 62 year embargo. It's like he's going out of his way to prop up the "Axis of Evil"

Even random chance wouldn't get you a worse foreign policy.

Palantir are Evil. It's mass surveillance . If AI can sift through it all.

Vance going to Islamabad with the boss at home, reminds me of the fate of Michael Collins when he went to London for treaty negotiations.

Data released this week shows 4,499 people have been admitted as refugees since last October - 4,496 from South Africa and 3 from Afghanistan.

Traditionally, most refugees to the U.S. have come from areas affected by war, violence and widespread human right abuses, including Congo, Myanmar, Venezuela and Afghanistan. CBC News

You get the impression that Trump sees wars as video games, with a bit of gambling/investing on the side.

JD doesn't want to have anything to do with this, so its sure to be a popcorn-deserving occasion over there. This war in Iran has been one of the worst mistakes ever made by a US administration. And that's really saying something.

Thankfully some EU countries are moving away from Palantir. They should be banned in Europe and EU funds banned from investing in them.

Is there anything more trumpian than the font of ‘The Oval Office’ looking like something you’d see outside the function room of a dated Las Vegas hotel

Iran turn up in force with experience

US turns up with vance kushner and widkrof

If America had a president (he wouldnt have started this war) but would appear for something of great importance other and not send inexperienced non diplomats while he sleeps or watches the golf.

Its the people who voted and still support this clown need to excluded from future election at take the guns off them

not really how it works - the top person never sits at the negotiating table, never mind the fact that the secret service would never approve a trip to the Middle East during an active war - and Pakistan is an ally in name alone at the best of times too

I think there's an irony in the fact that some of my favourite games have terrain mechanics which make certain regions miserable to fight in as mountains provide high defensive bonuses and supply infrastructure is all but non-existent.

For one title, Hearts of Iron IV, an expansion was released which added content for Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and the British Raj. Players hated it, partly for the reasons I alluded to above.

Lots of speculation that this will harm Orban. Trump is clearly a busted flush and even right wing parties like the AfD in Germany and the Front Nationale in France are turning against him.

Thete is no top person in the US today . Trump Vance Kushner and Widkof are equally useless.

It isn't really speculation. The Trump-aligned right in Europe have all seen regressions in support.

That's why Fidesz uses every dirty trick in the book. A former Hungarian friend told me years ago about all sorts of corruption that went on in his home town. It was exactly what you'd expect in a tinpot dictatorship, not a European democracy.

I see a lot of posts on social media saying people have turned away from Maga.

Are they finally waking up to this conman…probably not.

It's person not party you vote so if a party puts up too many candidates you dilute your votes and you can loose

exactly. Look at how quiet Farage is on his Trump affiliations lately.
at the next UK election he’ll be denying he ever met the guy.

The hardcore racists and Christian fundamentalist crowd will stick with him no matter what. But he clearly picked up a lot of floating voters at the last election and that's where the real danger is for him.

It's possible that the field is, indeed, going to be reduced.

The one Democrat who is polling higher than the second Republican is now under pressure from the party.
    https://www.cnn.com/2026/04/10/politics/democrats-withdraw-endorsements-of-eric-swalwell-and-demand-he-end-bid-for-california-governor

To be fair, the next Democrat in the polls, Porter, doesn't need that much of the Salwell vote in order to overtake the second Republican, Blanco.

not just that.. the ability to issue Executive Orders to implement one’s personal views and objectives should not be allowed.

The narrower a man’s mind, the broader his statements.

Yes if Orban had any sense he would have asked Trump and Vance to stay away and stay schtum. He has however lost the plot (like Trump himself) and is desperately flailing around for any scrap of support he can get. As for the French RN, they fared extremely poorly in local elections last month.

Hopefully next week we will see Péter Magyar call in on that promise to to use the full economic might of the United States to support Hungary's economy and the Hungarian people. To be a fly on the wall. Hi Don, about that support .... 😆

Michael Collins was a good person doing the best he could Vance is the direct opposite of everything Michael Collins was.

I saw a video from an OT, apparently there are signs up all over the white house now for what rooms are which, where the west wing is, stuff like that. Things that absolutely don't need sign posting. And this OT was saying that this is something super common when adapting a house for a person with dementia, helps them know where they are at any time, she was indicating that's what they've done for Trump (in his distinctive crappy gaudiness)

Collins knew he was going to be the scapegoat and still went.

It's good to see that his claim is that its his administration that stands ready to use the full Economic Might of the United States to strengthen Hungary's Economy. The question now is if Capitol Hill and the U.S taxpayer be willing to use those funds on an E.U member and will he tell the E.U that he is willing to take over the task the E.U has been filling for some years now.

What is the SCOTUS view on whether Trump can use his claimed presidential immunity from testifying about what he knows of Epstein's activities.?

There was a tale on F/B up to 5 minutes ago to the effect tha SCOTUS had ruled he did not have presidential immunity against testifying on those grounds but after checking google to see if it was a fake news item and being told it was false, I was unable to find the tale on F/B. Coincidence is mighty when it comes to false news items ands ballhops.

That is a great visual, but key measure we need to look at isnt total ships per day, its total barrels of oil per day. And this is something Trump and MAGA have tried tying Europe up with. The majority of the ships are actually small carriers

The facts of the matter are in normal conditions, about 20m bareels per day of oil moves through Hormuz, including roughly 15 mb of crude. Using the destination breakdown for 2025

    Destination

    Crude via Hormuz (mb/d)

    China

    5.4

    India

    2.1

    South Korea

    1.7

    Japan

    1.6

    Rest of Asia

    2.0

    Europe

    0.5

    U.S.

    0.4

    Others / rest of world

    0.6

    Australia

    0.1

Australia is worth mentioning only because it is not a major direct Hormuz destination, but very exposed to it indirectly

Of the above, China and India have been permitted tranist, around 6 ships a day which looks tiny versus the previous ship numbers, but those few ships are mega-tankers and carrying around 5-6mb/d

For further context, the pipeline workaround to avoid Hormuz is being maxed out, but is limited. only 4-5.5 mb/d can be rerouted around Hormuz on alternative crude routes. Worth noting because it is significantly more than Europe gets via that region, but is enough to squeeze the global market.

So the idea that 'Europe needs to solve this because we need the oil' is nonsense on the actual volumes. Europe’s direct crude intake via Hormuz is about 0.5 mb/d. China alone is 5.4 mb/d, more than ten times Europe’s direct volume. This is why Trump and MAGA are afraid. India is 2.1 mb/d. The biggest direct dependence is in Asia, not Europe.

That means even maxed out bypass routes and China/.India permitted tankers allow around 50% of the pre-war barrels per day through. So MAGA-USA need to STFU about Europe and start looking at where the barrels actually go; China and India, not to Europe.
