I mean the rapidly increasing population is due to government policies.

Honestly anyone who think's Trump is a hero needs professional fúcking help. That fuckers caused more damage to the world in recent years than anyone else bar Putin. They're Cancer Media Cultists at that point. I honestly think these dodgy gobshites are going to find they bit off more than they could chew. There's legitimate grievances because of inflation first from Covid, then Putin and his bullshit and now Trump and his degenerate fúcking friends. There needs to be serious discussion about limiting price increases on core items and making sure people can still afford to live but if corrupt little facebook rejects with criminal convictions decide they'll try shutting down the country and give no fúcks about the welfare of the common good, round the leaders up and make examples out of them. Fuckers can rot in a prison for all I care, when they put peoples lives at risk they're no longer "peaceful protestors" but malicious feckers. The regressive right is a plague that's enshittifying everything today, they need to be made fúck off back under their rock.

Good post. You already have these problems but then the absolute dregs of far right scum at the protests has decimated any public support. The MAGA morons with no mention of Trump and Israels ridiculous actions which have blown up oil prices is also pretty funny to see from the outside. It just makes them all look stupid and you can't take them seriously. The government were loving it when those morons appeared. It was a protest that could have got somewhere but I think that a lot of the people involved just didn't have the IQ to run it effectively. They made sure that it won't get anywhere and is just a waste of everyones time.

Right to let's use that so that everything else isn't falling apart

There's a lot of agri-contractors among this rabble all the same.

Wonder if they're all tax compliant.

Perfect opportunity to double check their affairs

So to conclude our star studded line up...

Christopher Duffy - ran his business into the ground a few years back, then illegally refused the repossession order for the assets he put up as collateral and spent some time in jail. Also wished a young girl was r*ped because she cares about the climate.

Geoghegan, owes revenue upwards of half a million and convicted animal abuser.

    Drink Driver Dallon

Racist Pepper who threatens other councillors.

    Tom 'Criminal damage' McDonnell.

Everything isn't falling apart. We have the same issues that many other countries have, except we the luxury of a thriving economy when a lot of the rest of the developed world is fairly stagnant.

Sure that McDonnell dope endorsed McGregor for president and said Conor was the only one who could save Ireland. The rightys do seem to like putting rapists and other criminals on a pedestal to worship. Fully explains why the "leaders" are in fact all criminal scummers.

Get the army to move the f*ckers now and revenue should investigate every farmer who came down with a half a million euro tractor who can somehow afford to be out of work for a full week and is able to do more if he likes.

Scrap the inheritance tax exemption while we are at it.

Getting all of them beyond hefty fines might be a bit of a stretch, however investigate the ringleaders, find out who these facebook fúckwits organising this are. Some of these feckers are already being outed as grifters and tax evaders. Put the malicious bastards out of buisness if they threaten peoples lives. People that stupid cant be trusted with heavy or farm machinery.

That's some line up leading the charge here. Rotten.

This is less of a fuel protest and more a "MIGA movement" in reality…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,078 ✭✭✭✭titan18

Not really. Can't be saying we can't facilitate good healthcare, housing, public transport cos our population is rising if you're attempting to increase the population.

Bit of circular thinking would mean you do both if you're doing the latter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,755 ✭✭✭Infini

I wouldn't say the place is falling apart but there's been a serious lack of focus on core infrastructure over the years as well as poor civil service numbers. We need more Guards, more prisons, rail infrastructure, housing etc, we need a much more generous program for home retrofits for Solar even. Electric Cars should be have a much lower VRT for a certain period etc. We also need the costs of core essentials to be heavily price regulated in order to maintain basic living standards. The problem is that orange fucknut has now kicked off whats going to be the third round of inflation spiked price increases in 6 years, the fuel spikes over the summer are going to be nasty. Peoples wages aren't keeping up and feel that struggling feeling as well. It's depressing and regressive wing fúcknuts exploit that to rile up people. The same kind of fúcknuts who are ruining the world wherever they're in power.

I'm sure revenue have all their registrations and are busy inputting those details into their systems.

Like most people said on day one, only for cheerleaders to claim "Dullon, Geoghegan, Duffy, and McDonnell were all just good honest hard working men trying to save Ireland and being unfairly judged"

aaaaaaand they are all convicted wasters as expected. But its good to know the type of people that farmers apparently find "good and honest"

It's a quiet time for them at the moment . They can afford to waste time at blockades.

Just took a look at tiktok for my sins. Rte posted a video today of MM and the comments are something else. Three posters asking why prices are rising when there are 90 days of fuel in reserve? Government really missed a trick not putting out an explainer on how these markets work 2 or 3 weeks ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,372 ✭✭✭For Petes Sake

yeah because that would have stopped these greedy fools.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 132 ✭✭Mobius2021

Looking on the positives the protestors may have large numbers but they presumably lack large amount of arms.

Also the government and state would have the support of our European neighbours and I would imagine those other countries don't want this madness to spread to their countries. The government really do need to ensure that at least Dublin port and our airports stay open.

I just wonder when will the tipping point be, the government have been slow enough to respond.

The usual suspects in here and in the media doing all they can to paint farmers and hauliers as far right thugs .

Embarrassing. There’s nothing a liberal fool won’t do or excuse to feel some sort of superiority complex in their own sad little world . I feel really sorry for people who hear another Irish child has been attacked or sexually assaulted, or that the working Irish people are standing up to the government and immediately go into panic mode and tie themselves up in knots to find a far right slant to blame it on , it must be an awful psychological burden to be so brainwashed or dumb .

No amount of spin in the last 48 hours from the Irish times , newstalk and their ilk has managed to convince normal people that this protest isn’t supported .

Anti immigrant or anti government?? No , just anti Irish kids being raped and stabbed by illegal scum and anti corruption by our so called leaders .

So refreshing to see the tricolour waved all over the country this week instead of Palestinian , Hamas or trans flags .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,372 ✭✭✭For Petes Sake

Lol @ you trying to gaslight by using the sexual assault of a child in defence of a bloke who said Greta Thunberg should be raped.

The meedja and posters here don't need to paint these cowboys as anything, as they're all doing a bang up job of it themselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,722 ✭✭✭almostover

Sorry to point this out to you but the protest is focused on securing reduced taxation on fuel, particularly diesel and agricultural diesel.

The protest isnt about raping and stabbing of children, interestingly though many of the protest leaders are convicted criminals and one even goes on social media to promote child rape!

Saying you have no problem with a girl being raped is the lowest of the low. No surprise to see the far right scumbags defending it.
