    @Tony EH,

On something serious, I don't find it amusing. But for 15 years I've castigated the Church (Magdalene slaves, cover-ups of child clerical abuse, mother and baby institutions, around Cavan Orphanage fire…).

    Another brutality by Israel

    https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/israeli-forces-beat-elderly-palestinian-woman-death

At one point, Sabriya attempted to move and called out to her son Hassan, fearing he had been arrested. The soldiers responded by shoving her violently with their rifles, knocking her to the ground and shouting at her to be quiet.

The elderly woman’s head struck the wall, causing her to lose consciousness. Her husband panicked, shouting and pleading with the soldiers to help, but they refused.

After the soldiers left, Sabriya’s husband and son rushed her to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital in Qalqilya. A heavy presence of Israeli military vehicles had prevented an ambulance from reaching the scene.

At the hospital, Sabriya was pronounced dead from the injuries she sustained during the raid, leaving her family in deep shock.

The family is awaiting the arrival of Sabriya’s daughter from Jordan before they bid her a final farewell and lay her to rest, as the whole town grieves.

Obviously, as well as beating a women to death @wildgreen, the illegal settlements, looting, theft, general thuggery continue - with full military force.

    Warmongering genocidal pariah state.

As the Iran war dominates the Israeli news cycle, settlers established an illegal settlement outpost within Jerusalem's city limits for the first time in the country's history earlier this week. Residents of two nearby Palestinian villages told Haaretz the settlers attacked them with stones and tear gas, and prevented them from herding their sheep. After clashing with the settlers on Sunday, four Palestinians were arrested by Israeli authorities, and another four were wounded.

Last week, settlers were filmed building a new West Bank outpost while accompanied by Israeli military vehicles. Other footage from the scene near the Palestinian village of Aqaba in Area C, which is under Israeli control, showed Israeli women and children at the site standing alongside soldiers as structures were being erected.

On the day the outpost was established, the IDF told Haaretz that Israeli security forces were operating to evacuate it, but as of now, it has still not been removed. The military did not address the presence of soldiers on site and, in a follow-up response, referred questions to the Civil Administration – Israel's governing body in the West Bank.

In response, Israel's Civil Administration said that "the defense establishment is aware of Israelis returning to the area and further evacuations will be carried out in accordance with operational assessments and subject to approval by the government." Residents told Haaretz that settlers recently connected the outpost to the Palestinian water supply illegally, and that Israeli forces, who occasionally arrive at the site, leave without taking action.

A clear majority of Americans now view Israel unfavourably, according to a new Pew Research Center survey, in the latest sign of collapsing public support for the occupation state. Pew found that 60 per cent of US adults now have an unfavourable opinion of Israel, while just 37 per cent express a favourable view.

The figures mark a sharp deterioration from last year, when 53 per cent of Americans viewed Israel negatively. Pew said the share of Americans with a “very unfavourable” view has also surged to 28 per cent, up nine points in a year and nearly triple the level recorded in 2022

The survey, conducted between 23 and 29 March among 3,507 US adults, suggests that Israel’s standing in the US has continued to erode even after decades of political, media and diplomatic protection from Washington.

The collapse in support for Israel is even stark among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents. Eighty per cent of Democratic voters now hold an unfavourable view of Israel, up from 69 per cent last year and 53 per cent in 2022. Among Republicans and Republican leaners, 41 per cent now view Israel negatively, although a majority in that camp still retain a favourable opinion overall.

It appears schoolgirls are now added to the IDF extermination list of prime targets such as journalists, medics and aid workers (plus nuns, priests and sheep). Obviously taking a leaf out of the US playbook:

    Haaretz:

While all eyes remain on the Iran war, in northern Gaza, Israeli forces shot and killed a young female ‌student while she was attending a class ‌held in a tent, health and education officials in the Strip said. The IDF did not immediately comment on the incident.

It's fascinating to watch. One element is probably the sharp decline of mainstream media and the rise of social media. Probably most people under the age of 50 don't even watch CNN, Fox News, NBC, CBS etc and instead get their news from social media channels - which are much, much harder for Zionists to control.

The decline of Trump and MAGAism is probably another factor, plus the likes of Tucker Carlson not being afraid to slaughter Israel on his YouTube channel.

No wonder "settlers" are on the rampage -

"The Shin Bet security service's Jewish Division is in a deep crisis that worsened since Shin Bet chief David Zini took office, several sources told Haaretz. Zini views violence by settlers and extreme-right activists in the West Bank as insignificant. He does not call attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank as "Jewish terror," but rather as "cases of friction" between Jews and Palestinians."

Former heads of Shin Bet, the IDf and even Mossad disagree:

"In a letter published in the Israeli media this week, former heads of the Shin Bet and Mossad security services, and former IDF chiefs of staff, told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that "government-sponsored Jewish terrorism" was running wild in the West Bank, which they described as "not only a moral disgrace but a fatal strategic blow to Israel's national security in a time of war"."

Edit - no surprise that the only terrorists subject to the new death penalty are Palestinians. Jewish terrorists will just be called "heroes".

Greater Israel - the prime mover since 1947.

    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20260410-smotrich-speaks-about-israels-intention-to-expand-in-syria-lebanon-and-gaza/

Far-right Israeli Finance Minister and settlement official Bezalel Smotrich announced that Israel intends to extend its borders into the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria.

Speaking at the opening of a new settlement on Thursday, Smotrich said: “We always talk about the military part and then the political part, and there are those who criticise us, saying there are only military achievements without a political component.”

He added: “There will be a political component in Gaza to expand our borders, another component that will extend into Lebanon up to the Litani River at defensible boundaries, and a third component that will extend into Syria, ending at the peak of Mount Beit She’an and at least a security zone.”

Israel targets Lebanese army. First Hezbollah then UN peacekeepers and now the Lebanese army. They must be doing three teams on 8-hour continuous shifts so that the killing never pauses even for a moment.

    https://www.palestinechronicle.com/nabatieh-massacre-israel-hits-government-site-as-resistance-expands/

Israel escalated its attacks on Lebanon with a direct strike on the government complex in Nabatieh, killing 13 members of the State Security apparatus and injuring others.

The strike hit an official Lebanese institution, marking a significant expansion in the scope of Israeli targeting.

The attack came alongside a broader wave of air raids, artillery shelling, and demolition operations across southern Lebanon.

Strikes targeted Deir al-Zahrani, Kfarreman, Qaqaiyat al-Jisr, Srifa, and Bint Jbeil, while additional attacks hit Douris and Sahmar in the Bekaa, where further casualties were reported.

Israeli forces also struck a newly established Civil Defense point in Siddiqin, and hit roads and infrastructure in the Tyre district, including routes linking Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain and al-Housh.

Perhaps that's how SS guards felt 80 years ago in the extermination camps.

Perhaps the same punishment should be meted out.

    Grim reading -

‘I wished for death’: Sexual violence in Israel’s prisons is an ‘organised state policy’
Palestinian testimonies reveal how sexual violence, including rape using objects and dogs, is approved by 'highest levels' of Israeli leadership"

Sexual torture of Palestinian detainees from Gaza in Israeli prisons is an "organised state policy", endorsed by the "highest, political, military, and judicial authorities", a new report has revealed.

The report, seen exclusively by Middle East Eye, is based on testimonies from Palestinian former prisoners gathered by the rights watchdog Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor."

Every other country on the planet would have sanctions coming out of their ears for the things that Israel does.

Forget sanctions; when a country is engaging in an ethnic cleansing like this against innocent men, women and children, there is only one correct solution to deal with such devils.

Seems Israel is upset about the cover of an Italian Magazine, especially how their photograph "distorts reality".

    Its. A. Photograph.

Israel's Envoy Slams Italian Magazine Cover of West Bank Settler Violence as 'Manipulative'
The L'Espresso magazine published the cover image with the headline 'Abuse,' for the issue which features articles about 'how the Zionist right is shaping Greater Israel.' Israel's envoy said the image distorts reality

'how the Zionist right is shaping Greater Israel.'

Surely Not!!!! Next they'll be printing lies saying the good and gentle "settler movement" are a part of the problem.

that was a very worrying half of football. Midfield being destroyed, back 4 could concede on any of Leeds attacks.

time to see what Carrick can do about this mess. Big changes needed

Israeli lobby group J Street wants to stop funding Israel's genocide.

The liberal pro-Israel lobby group J Street has called for the phased end of all US military aid to Israel by 2028, in a striking sign of how far the political ground has shifted in Washington over unconditional support for the occupation state.

In an interview with Haaretz, J Street president Jeremy Ben-Ami said the US-Israel relationship should be “normalised” so there are “no more exceptions to special treatment”, with Israel expected to fund its own military needs from its own budget once the current aid agreement expires.

Many critics have pointed out that Israel’s aggressive posture in the region and ongoing illegal occupation of Palestine, would be severely hampered without US aid, forcing the apartheid state to shift its policy.

The shift is seen as being significant because J Street has long positioned itself as a liberal Zionist alternative to more hardline pro-Israel lobbying groups while still defending a “strong” US-Israel relationship.

L'Espresso have done us a big favour. I'm not sure people in the West are aware of just how evil the settlers are - that's a great cover photo and the Zionists' attempts to debunk it have totally backfired.

More white smoke from Italy, this time from Rome.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cp9vm5ezxz4t

Italy is not renewing its defence agreement with Israel, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has said.

Meloni said her government had decided to suspend the renewal, which happens every five years, "in view of the current situation”, without specifying what she was referring to.

But relations between Rome and Tel Aviv have recently been fractious.

Last week, Italy summoned the Israeli ambassador in Rome after warning shots were fired b yIsraeli forces at a convoy of Italian UN peacekeepers in Lebanon, damaging one vehicle but causing no injuries.

Seems the trouncing of Orban (a staunch supporter of Israel in the EU) has given some other EU leaders a bit of courage. First Spain, then Italy and now Germany.

The response of Smotrich speaks volumes - Germany definitely touched a nerve…

    Haaretz strapline:

On Monday night, after German Chancellor Merz said he voiced "grave concern" over developments in the West Bank in a phone call with Netanyahu and demanded there be "no de facto partial annexation" of the territory, Israel's far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, posted on X that "the days when Germans dictated to Jews where they were permitted or forbidden to live are over," adding that "you will not force us into ghettos again."

The continuing ethnic cleansing of Arab East Jerusalem -

"The Justice Ministry is using a lawyer from the Ateret Cohanim association to lead the eviction process of the Basha family from a building where they have lived for almost a century in the Old City of Jerusalem. The family has less than two weeks to leave"
