Easy decision. Get the JK one. Its the better BMS. SOC will still drift without regular 100% charges but thats the same with all of them.

cells dont really matter, I keep an eye on 3 packs all "b grade" envision, and they are all performing better than rated

That's pretty much YT standard, only way for full objectivity is buy yourself

I have connected a ESP32 to get BMS details into Homeassitant

I've been reviewing stuff for years outside of YT. I'm a critical fvcker, so whether I buy it, or get it for free, I give the same opinion. The only difference is I will say when I get something for free. Otherwise, i've paid for it.

The Docan Panda (32kWh) battery has sold out. Won't be back in Europe for another 3-5 months. I might take a chance with Deligreen.

I wouldn’t bother with Deligreen. I was chatting to them last week. They don’t seem comfortable with an honest product review, because I won’t take money, or affiliate revenue. They just disappear after that.

Great post – lots of useful info here.

I’m planning to set up a battery storage + inverter system, but without solar panels for now as I’ve roof work planned later in the year.
The idea is to charge the batteries on the EV night rate and discharge during the daytime.

My daily usage ranges from ~10–30 kWh, depending on the season, so I’m currently thinking having of two 15 kWh batteries.

A few questions for those who’ve already done this:

    • Is stackable battery storage generally the better option?
    • Are Deligreen and GobelPower still the recommended brands here?
    • Any specific battery + inverter combinations you’d recommend for a battery‑only setup (with solar to be added later)?

Open to all advice, especially from anyone running a similar setup. Cheers!

Fogstar or NKON. Either 2x16kWh kits, or if you can manage, the large 32kWh kits. Makes a saving on BMS

its definitely a orange flag, but it doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem with the battery or it's quality.

I had a similar situation with Mammotion robot lawn mowers years ago. They reached out to me to do a video for their kick starter and they had the same reaction when I made similar requests.

The outcome of the Kickstarter was there was delays with the mower, but people did get their mowers eventually and by all accounts they are considered very good mowers. I've since bought one myself (a smaller model)

If the battery actually costs them €1000 or whatever, they potentially see value in paying you €1000 to do an ad for them, they don't see value in paying you €1000 to review the battery.

They reached out to me first last year and asked for my terms. I gave them a detailed breakdown and at the time was open to affiliation, but on condition that I was in control of what was said, as I wanted to give an honest review of the product. Then recently, I've been asked about their products, so I reached out and offered them a couple of potential slots into planned content…same conditions, but this time, no affiliation, no commission, no payment. Only a discount code for customers if they were willing. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that if they can't control the content, they're afraid.

If the battery actually costs them €1000 or whatever, they potentially see value in paying you €1000 to do an ad for them, they don't see value in paying you €1000 to review the battery.

If the product is good, they will quickly recover the cost of sending one to me and will see some sales (I don't predict a huge sales boost from my small channel). My integrity isn't for sale, no matter how much they offer to pay or send. They might come back to me and send me products I can check out and at that time, i'll share my thoughts.

Strangely, some producers and re-sellers reach out for sponsorship and/or affiliation and after an initial response to express interest, they never get back. I leave it with them.

If a person is handy enough with DIY and bought, say, the prebuilt below—one that has EVE cells and a JK v4 BMS—you’d assume any issue would likely be a dodgy cell or BMS. These are items that can be sourced separately and swapped out.

It’s a pain in the arse, but it's doable; especially considering these batteries are about 1k less (including delivery and in stock) than the next comparable options from Fogstar or NKON.

I had 4 Eve 280Ah cells off them and they were spot on, delivery was a couple of weeks and cells were genuine manufactured last November which is better than the two cells I bought off Fogstar which were a brand I've never heard of and were over 2 years old. Actually looking to get another Seplos DIY to replace the two WECOs in Dublin.

Might be just an odd-ball rep who was mailing me, but it’s enough to make me question them if they want to control what is said in a review scenario.

I recommend Fogstar, but have slated them for their poor logistics and sending the wrong kits with their cases. They’ve always followed up, but people should be aware of these things when buying.

Same with NKON. Paid with my own money every time and I can’t fault them other than they are so often out of stock.

Have a Deligreen since Christmas 2025, fully charging and discharging everyday since install, hasn’t skipped a beat. Bought for 1600 usd. Ordered 5th Dec and arrived on the 16th Dec to the door.

The Deligreen DIY kit ordered in mid-March took a month to deliver, arrived a few days ago.

Spent time today setting it up and made good progress setting up the cells in the battery box directly in the attic.

However, assembling the BMS and front panel is proving to be a different challenge.

I’ve made some progress (I think!) but not entirely sure where the heavy red and black cables all need to connect from the battery terminals to the BMS, and from the BMS to the front panel connectors, through the fuse.

I’m kinda stuck at this point:

Has anyone come across any good, detailed assembly videos or instructions for this battery and BMS?

There should be a few on the jk on off grid garage.

Generally the negative goes through the BMS and the positive goes straight to the battery

Wire up the BMS leads unplugged and verify with multimeter that the voltage goes up 3.2, 6.4 etc in order.

If anyone is in Dublin and would just prefer pre-built, then this is possibly a decent option

Looks like I am going to go with the following simply because its the 'best' they have and as for the kit versus pre-made, I dont think I will be able to move 130KG to where I need this battery to go.

Deligreen 32kw delivered and in place, heavy but the 6 wheels back it easy to move. I (stupidly) assumed it would communicate directly (like the existing pylontechs), any guide on what settings to input in the solis and jkbms app?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9 al2025

Found them (thank you Claude!) Change both of these to pylon, leave solis set to pylontech.

Would you mind posting a larger picture of those two settings?

    Thanks @al2025

Deligreen DIY kit all set up and running now.
Thanks to @graememk for the pointers and the above information from @al2025 on the settings proved helpful also.
