Thats an absolute perfect ball in, if you picked a blade of grass to place it to at that speed, that was the one

    That pass was so good

Got a game on our hands now

Just realised it wasnt 2-2 cos if Vini's miss, delighted he messed it up

Another excellent goal, not a great finish from Mbappe but the run and pass from Alexander-Arnold and the movement from Mbappe were all excellent, very enjoyable game.

There are not many players I'd love to give a good root up the hole as much as Vini Jnr.

Neuer breaking out the old 'sweeper keeper' routine.

Schmeichel wasn't even the best of his generation. A million miles off best ever.

End product has been absolutely terrible from him today.

Watching Real v Bayern on Virgin, Christ the commentator is really spoiling it, absolutely roaring.

    Surprised Mbappe put that wide.

Reals defensive frailties really exposed tonight. Bayern should have 5 at least

They will likely hammer Madrid next week on this showing

    Lovely first touch and finish

    Forgot that game was on.

All eyes were on Madrid and Bayern were full value for their win - should have neem more. They should batter Real at home.

Arsenal are playing poorly and have been for a while now but was watching the second half of the Real - Bayern match, and while it might be far more entertaining than what the Premier League is serving up, things were just far too open at times.

That shot Mbappe had from 20 yards to make it 2-2 that he put a foot or two wide, how on earth is he getting that much space from Bayern to run freely at the defence and shoot while they're a few minutes away from a 2-1 win away from home in the champions league quarter finals. A well organised, hard to beat but can nick goals from set pieces team would absolutely be beating either of those. Basically how Arsenal were playing 6 months back, hard to see it now though.

Both teams defending like Kenny's Ireland. Leaving guys like Kane and M'Bappe open on the edge of the box.

They appointed a really good Coach last summer. But apparently some of his demands of the players weren't to their liking. And he was gone within 6 months.

They won't do very much under Arbeloa. The League title is pretty much sewn up for Barca already

I thought that was the most Premier League moment of the match, ball played to nobody in particular and hope for a mistake. Just needed to replace Vini Jr with Ouattara and it would be a carbon copy.

Winning the league with Bayer was amazing but it's far too early in his career to know how good he is or if he is even better than Arbeloa.

What a game of football. Great to see 2 teams play such an important game and want to win it. None of this "we'll take a draw" nonsense.

It was like watching a different sport to some of the recent games I've seen (looking at you Arsenal).

Maybe not, but most likely Arsenal will have a better chance than 4 of the quarter finalists have. 7 clean sheets in 11 games, 10 wins.

I cannot watch Arsenal as I find the games nearly as boring as Liverpool these days!!

I would like to see them win the league as it has been a while. Big chance in the CL as in a final, it is usually a close game with a set piece winner often the difference.

I do not think Arsenal would get to the final on the other side of the draw but they are not on that side:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Yeah a team that has played 11 champions league games and won 10 of them, definitely doesnt play to win...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,201 ✭✭✭✭Zeek12

Arbeloa has shown nothing to indicate he’s up to the job.
They are much the poorer since Alonso departed. The title race is effectively over since last weekend. Dumped out of the Copa del Rey by a 2nd tier side. Losing games to the likes of Mallorca and Getafe….

And will be dumped out of the CL very soon. Bayern were far superior tonight and were cutting them open at will.
    1-2 really flatters Real.

I'm sure this has been asked before but is there no way to see highlights of tonight's games other than wait for tomorrow nights MOTD? This was much easier when LiveScore had the rights a couple of years ago.

Edit: there are highlights on YT.

UEFA on youtube have 3 mins of each game. You probably want a bit more I'm guessing.

In other news, Arsenal winning guaranteed 5 CL spots for English clubs next season.

TNT have 6 mins highlights of RM v BM, only 3 mins of the Arsenal game. Bizarrely when I tried to watch them on TNT's app they're geo-blocked but on YT (and indeed the LiveScore app) they're fine.

No, it's not an auto yellow card. It was something the EPL brought in and still seem to enforce at least occasionally, but UEFA had little interest in (think they considered it at committee once)

Collina actually pointed out in an interview that Latino players wave cards, whereas other nationalities make pointed comments like 'bit of protection ref?', 'that's his fourth one', 'forgotten your cards?'. And that penalising only the card-waver would be unacceptable.

PSG around 4/1 to win both halves this evening is a decent bet.
