YouTube Premium thread SEE OP

I had a gander myself as the curiosity was getting the better of me. It's an app you can download and using it you can trick the YouTube app that you are a premium subscriber, I'd say it's android only, apple would say, down with that sort of thing 😉

I previously had the Apple method working and it stopped. I just tried using the Apple trick with a fresh new Apple ID and using Turkey. It said Country unverified, so no success unfortunately.

Weird I'm in Poland and was getting kicked out for a year now I'm getting away with it and it's going through for last few months

I don't know why you would use the VPN other than signing up.

Doesn't matter at all if you don't use the VPN for Poland ,you didn't use it this month and it went through I never use it and it goes through.

Oh no, not looking good is it? Would it be easier to do it via ITunes on a Windows computer? VPN's on Apple products can be messy to get working properly.

i have been using the vpn method to watch youtube. Set to Albania, since i came back from Spain last Tuessay i have been getting some ads, not as bad as the usual youd get on free youtube. A lot of the ads are in Spanish also. I have deleted the youtube app on iphone. Ipad but no improvement. Also getting the ads on firestick, removed this this morning but ads still.

My Poland sub was auto cancelled and ran out yesterday.

I renewed today via VPN. No problems at all. Paid with revolut as usual. About 10 minutes after I paid I got a call from revolut checking for fraudulent activity on my card.

Indian accent, so scam alarm bells were ringing, it looked like he was calling through the revolut app as it was just a black screen with the revolut logo and an answer or decline button.

Anyway, I went to display all the recent apps on my phone and noticed it was actually Google meet app they were calling through so definitely a scammer.

When he asked my most recent transaction value I said €3,000 and they must've known at that point I was onto him, they went silent for ages so I ended the call, I was going to try and wheel him in and waste some of their time to stop them scamming someone else.

Its probably just a coincidence with the timing but just posting here in case it happens to anyone else so they are aware.

VPN traffic should be encrypted but they might be able to see where traffic is coming from and going to somehow, and use this to call right after a transaction to make it more believable.

Just renewed again via Apple in Turkey. Couldn't remember the burner account based there so took me a while but once I loaded the gift card all sailed through easily.

I had actually let it expire so had to cancel the YT premium membership and renew it.

VPNs work absolutely fine on Apple products, easier if anything to get working - I’ve VPNs on my iPhone, iPad, MacBook and Apple TV all without issue.

I'm assuming the only way my family has (mostly) escaped this is we all use 5g routers for our home internet. I.P.'s chop and change all the time and location is more generic than your typical home broadband.

One family member lives in the UK with fixed broadband and was kicked out of the family last year, and another family member who visited them for a weekend was kicked out after connecting to their wifi and watching youtube 🙄. They managed to get themselves reinstated after some back and forth with google support.

If there are any more shenanigans I'm going to drop premium and return to patched or third party apps and teach my family the same.
