I'd assume they've been booked for these Heineken events is they're a reasonably big Irish band who aren't up to much at the moment

Muse coming in a busy November should be an easy no.

Was otherwise engaged their last venture but didnt sell out and gen tickets were about 90. These lads want the moolah though how high will they chance over the 100 is the q.

Unless they're doing an anniversary show for any/all of the first 3 albums, I'd have to be paid to go to a Muse show these days tbh.

Last minute ticket on the cheap. Missed the last show unfortunately but have never seen them myself.

Always look forward to a muse gig. But they need to change the regular set choices.

Knights of Cydonia and starlight and others need to get dropped

It was an amazing gig in the Point the last time...

Great set , great performance , an ego ramp, fire , smoke, and top musicians....

    I loved it.

    Snarky Snark Snark

that might have opened a door for them at one point but they’ve been very busy for too long for that to explain their success at this stage (and they bore the pants off me)

They don't disappoint live but barely a flicker I've liked since Drones.

One of those filed with thankfully I've seen…yer prices now, get off someone else.

Quiet day of announcements but not surprising with the bank holiday. Hopefully be a few later this week.

Folks has anyone been to Mike Joyce over the last few days? Limerick, Galway, Belfast? Seeing him in the Sugar Club tomorrow, just wondering what to expect. Chat about the book, the Smiths, field a few questions, sign a few books?

    They'll be resurrected tomorrow

    Time of season for that

New album, Reality Awaits, out this summer. Tour to go with it you'd assume

Reminder that Foo Fighters on now RTE 2 , recent Other Voices gig .🤗

Watching the Foo Fighters Other Voices session, surreal watching it back after seeing them a few nights later in a room a bit bigger than this.

Even have the event shirt from The Academy on for it. Does remind you how fortunate you had to be to get into the tickets for the Academy show, not one you take for granted.

Hopefully the fella that drove 3 hours to Dingle finally gets to see the set on telly.

Did the broadcast cut The Pretender? Been sitting here wondering for an age, they went to ad break at end of first new song then came back and into 2nd song

He is indeed. I gave him a spare President ticket to make up for my bad tip. All is forgiven.

I see Courtney Barnett is doing a European tour in October but no Irish date so far.

In past concerts no but she lip synced at the Olympics in Paris.

She has just added 6 more dates so she will be playing every Wed, Fri and Saturday for 5 weeks.

Likely add more too so Id say there is a high chance it will be largely lip synced.

Can only see this long-standing trend continuing one way with the Trump-inspired global shettshow.

Wireless Festival has been cancelled in the UK, as a result of the Home Office banning Kanye West from entering the United Kingdom.🤣

Interesting one… wonder if anyone over here takes the chance on Kanye West.

He’s still selling out stadiums on his own, so something like Electric Picnic or even Croke Park wouldn’t be that far-fetched?

Be interesting to see though, would the usual suspects who go to everything and anything actually skip this one if booked, or is it a bit too controversial for the laminated concert card?

Festival Republic were happy to have him in UK, so no reason they wouldn't book him elsewhere. He would be too expensive for EP and couldn't see him getting the bigger stadiums in the country. He is a bit of a poison chalice, but someone will take a punt on him

Controversy aside, didn't promoters lose money on a couple of his tours in the recent past?

I remember Marley Park with Pharrell selling pretty bad a few years ago and discounted tickets for him and Jay Z in the 3Arena.

I'm heading over to his Italy show in the summer, listened to his music since I was a kid and never actually thought I'd ever get the opportunity to actually see him perform, looking at his concert in Sofi stadium the other night ait looked like a complete spectacle, he generated 33m from those two shows with people waiting 2-3hrs for his merchandise alone, (1m people queued for tickets as well)

Despite all that, he has said and done some abhorrent things which can't be ignored and like everything actions do have consequences and cancellations such as this is what's going to happen,

Looking at the sales from this morning people are more than willing to pay 300 euro a night to witness him perform, the man has 74m monthly listeners on Spotify and in terms of getting to see live he's a very much once in a blue moon opportunity, his following is huge

There's a huge demand to see him live but due to his own actions it's becoming more and more difficult for that to happen, any promoter etc that attaches himself to him also has to deal with justifiable backlash

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug but he's never been a massive draw here.

They said that no concerns were raised about hosting him, which is **** astounding considering he's a self declared Nazi (I know he said he was having a mental health episode at the time, but **** him, it was an impressive 'episode' considering the amount of **** he was getting involved in) so who was in the pool of consultants, a single far right donator?

Nobody will touch him here, nor should they.

Yep, he always played size appropriate gigs on the first 3 albums (an actual holy trinity of music btw) but when 808s hit he went bigger but never seemed to hit those heights in Ireland.

I think he pissed a lot of people off with that point gig in 04 where he fcked off after an hour.
