It's bonkers. I'm in town and it's currently blowing a gale and lashing rain while the sun splits the sky. Feel very sorry for our neighbours who are having a massive catered party with marquee and the works in their back garden today

Good Friday's a strange day to have a massive party with a marque…………..or maybe I'm just getting old.

so.. watching tv and cooking programs

Can all chefs stop pretending that meat that is pink is lovely.

    If **** RAW

Stop trying to convince people it’s nice

When I order food , cook it the way I asked.. not what you feel is best.. I’m paying

TA which I'm ignoring until tomorrow - leak in our main house water supply.

Son just found it when doing some weeding. Initial exploratory work indicates in an area were I've fixed leaks before. Good news is I have all the fittings needed for the repair - to be sure to be sure - bad news is I might have a lot of digging to do.

Its now beer o'clock so ef it till tomorrow.

Wake me up when it's all over.

Tailgaters when you are in a line of slow traffic. There is no point in trying to make me go faster, there’s nowhere to go so just hang back and regulate your speed.

I just eyeball them in the mirror and they eventually hang back..so fcuking annoying.

Staying on the driving topic…when you're stopped at the lights and the first car keep rolling forward but when the lights actually go green they take all day to move…wtf.

My Henry Hoover tried to murder me 😕

There I was innocently vacuuming the stairs, Henry looking all innocent balanced on the second stair from the top, the turny bit. Little did I know that Henry was slowly inching forward with ill intent.....

I put the nozzle down on one of the stairs and hear that particular plastic hoover movement noise, and look up as Henry falls over the stair and starts tumbling towards me in slow motion.

Thankfully the cord winder thingy is broken and he got stopped at the last minute when he reached the end of the power lead and got stuck in mid attack.

It was like that moment in 28 days later with the rabid zombie among the washed sheets on the line that was actually on a leash, but with a happy vacuum cleaner instead of an undead monster.

I know it was totally my fault for not being more careful but I'm blaming Henry. Evil murderous Henry.....

Finished a thousand piece jigsaw that had been lying around since Christmas this evening.

    One single piece missing

Pringles ( which I detest with a passion), and the Instagram folk putting melted chocolate into a tube of Pringles ( did I mention how much I hate Pringles?🤢) and waiting for it to set, then cutting into it?

It's like everyone is doing it.

When you are going back up to a Facebook post you just scrolled past and it's about 200 posts up.

Your 100% right. I've spent a lot of my life working in restaurants and a lot of chefs have this snotty attitude about how they know better than the customer. The customer keeps the place going. If they want the food cooked a certain way then just do it.

RE: Bust water pipe I mentioned yesterday. Looks like a big muddy job. I'm alright with that but this is an old farm house and farmers can be messy bastards. So I've found the pipe, but not the leak and to get to it I have to dig out no end of farming rubbish including bailer twine, rusty wire and old fertiliser sacks :-(

Wake me up when it's all over.

neighbours property was sold and being renovated last few months. Grand, some noise to be expected, that’s life, but now they are apparently starting working on Sunday mornings… 😵. I got awoken early by some electrical rotary drill type noise….that went on up till lunchtime… I no longer wonder why people forfeit city / suburban life for the countryside. 😵‍💫.

I know it's just the way Nature is but I had to take down my bird feeders today as I was providing take away meals for a Sparrowhawk that has moved into the neighbourhood. Saw it take two Goldfinches off a feeder today as I happened to be looking out the back garden. Annoying though.

Say they had stickers on Arsenal and Chelsea's pods to keep them separate

Unfortunately I had to do the same a few years ago. Now I leave foliage and seed heads in the garden till spring and put fruit on random trees. We no longer see any pigeons as they have all been massacred by same sparrow hawk.

out for a walk and put eyes on the new owner, laughing and joking with the workman as he tidied up, a vertically challenged young wan, early 30’s… elderly neighbour the other side of her was standing at her door observing them with the most incredulous expression, as if to say..” seriously now, what the actual fûck ! “

    Betrayal by hot water bottle.😭

Went to retrieve it under the duvet... and found a massive puddle instead. Mattress topper, sheets, duvet cover and duvet.... And the mattress, too....

    Why meeeeeeeee... 😭😭😭😭

The quality of hot water bottles has seriously deteriorated in the last few years. Happened a few times on my mum and when it is still hot. She got burnt badly one time. Ended up getting a heat pad.

As someone else said about the meat on cookery programs still with a heartbeat. Dont mind beef rare to medium rare but duck and lamb should not be raw with white fat that is unrendered.

Great British Menu chefs saying Oui and cuisson, it's the not a french program or french cooking.

I double checked - it was the lid. It was closed properly but it wouldn't make a seal. Feck it anyway.

Treat yourself to one of these NH. They're brilliant. They hold the heat for hours.
