How many games undefeated was it again at the start of the season and now this.

Why not take the simple 3 and get possession back

Neck roll by Abrahams in front of AR there totally missed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 345 ✭✭Firstsub

Crowley did well to finish that

Missed the first half, who were responsible for the many missed tackles?

For the first time in a long time I'm considering giving up the season ticket. It's just a continuous backward slide year after year

strolling up to lineouts in the second half.

Delays in decision making in attack.

Ball watching by lots of people.

Massive lack of intensity on the pitch, terrible leadership nobody willing to increase the tempo in attack,

result aside this is an embarrassing result. Playing at this level for the remainder of the season and we better get used to the challenge cup.

By far and away the worst coached province this season.

the amount of gifted points conceded this season is criminal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,881 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Thought Zebo called the game very well throughout. We weren't very bright out there, didn't game manage the first half at all with the wind. Gifting them two intercepts and a tag rugby try left the hill too big to climb. Didn't hit Edogbo in the carry at all in the first half?

Crowley dragged us back into it, was one of the only bright points, Casey too. Liked the look of the new scrum half.

Plenty of people thought the same about Murphy in Ulster last season (or indeed Lancaster at the start of this season) - these things can take time.

agree but I’ve faith in McMillan …he was brought in with a coaching team in place ,prendergast is going and hope Leamy and Lawlor go with him it’s a good job we started this season so we’ll

    Kendellen

    O'Connor

    Coombes

    O'Donoghue

    Crowley

    AN Other

Great footwork by IFW but too many players thought their team mate had it under control.

That should be a massive concern though. They started the season like a house on fire but things have been more or less dumpster fire for awhile now.

Bad result when the season ticket renewals are about to start. I just don't know where we go from here.

Where we go is nail top 8 position in URC & guarantee Champions cup for nxt season, after that anything else is utter bonus territory for the coffers if we get a home game

Connacht away is going to be huge game depending how the 2games prior to that go.

Thankfully they've a week off after all this travel b4 heading for Italy again.

Ya i totally appreciate he needs time and he will get it. But the repeated mistakes is totally unacceptable. The tactics today were crazy first half.

There has to be a complete new backup coaching team…leamy is the only one under contract so he probably stays but his defence coaching is under major question atm

The tactics today were crazy first half.

They were and this is one of those things that is unknowable as to how much is on the coaches vs the players.

I would at least give him a season with his own assistants though before casting judgement. But Munster are not a good team at the moment. Probably a blessing in disguise to lose today and let them focus on securing a playoff spot in the URC.

Lose a game by 10 points but gift the opposition 21 points.

As we weathered the first 10-15 minutes I thought we might be in at half time but then we just gifted them a score, followed by another and then we decided not to tackle fir their BP try.

We've two weeks now for Benetton, whatever we need to do to reset we'd better do because on today's performance we won't be beating Connacht or Ulster.

Realistically Exeter had the match won at half time. They didn't need to score in 2nd half to win and incentive was all with Munster in 2nd half to try create opportunities. The final scoreline completely flattered us.

There is that. The point stands though that they got 21 handy points.

Ben O Donovan looked lively when he came on

Would like to see more of him instead of coughlan and Patterson for the rest of the season

That's all well and good, but he's the head coach and he's here nearly a full season. Now I'm not in any way suggesting that he should go, but as the head coach he isn't immune to the same criticisms as the others. Our current form (2 wins in 8) is a much on him as it is the players or the other coaches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 4,088 ✭✭✭50HX

I agree but the difference being the current coaches & players are in situ long enough & were what McMillan inherited therfore he gets a % of leeway on the results.

All bets are off nxt season though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,327 ✭✭✭TRC10

Jack Crowley single handedly made that result look respectable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,453 ✭✭✭PMC83

He's not immune but if Van Graan was allowed a good 4 seasons to bed in then surely Mc Millian should be allowed one. Munster started this season well but have fallen off, it an happens. Mc Millian's arrived at a time when many of Munsters star players have just retired, its a rebuild, was never going to be an over night fix. Give him a bit of time to rebuild the squad, the teams massively in flux right now.

On the bright side, connacht went through yesterday so they'll be less rested for their game against us. Ulster are likely to go through as well later today

Not sure if it will make much of a difference though, without being able to do the basics we won't be beating anybody

fair point but he came in with other coaches already in place ,ones he may and probably didn’t want …a lot of older players on the roster and 2 players in a pivotal position(tight head prop) who have barely played a game all season then throw in all the off field stuff

Prendergast was obviously pissed off he didn’t get the top job and tbh what are Leamy and Lawlor at as coaches
