    Choreography was mind blowing.

Better than anything I have seen on Broadway or even BGET ! 😁

When they had the animal characters syncing with the humans on stage …

It was up there with some of the best experiences musically and visually we have ever had.

St Anne's Park tickets will be at a premium this June .

Enjoyable unique show from David Byrne last night in the 3Arena

Was more of a 'theatrical' type show than a 'gig' imo but enjoyable from start to finish. The amount of hits David has from his Talking Heads days is amazing. Hard to pick song of the night but ill go 'And She Was' a personal favourite of mine. Highly recommend going to St Anne's Park in June

Francis Rossi in Theatre Royal next up on the 10th April

That David Byrne gig looks unreal. What a show. You must have been on edge for the next song to see what was is coming next. Such creativity!

Kinda puts the lead singer of Sabbages chucking cabbage leaves into the audience last night for visual affect into the shade. 🙄😂

Playing to a packed Whelan’s and with over 20,000 followers on Spotify, not sure where Croíthe have been hiding but their Fontaines/New Order undertone has some gut-punching moments that I loved.

Lead singer missed a few mosh opportunities but they will come with confidence/experience.

Their last number, WickedBoy, which isn’t on Spotify yet, was just superb.

You’re Bleedin Gorgeous in The Grand Social has to be one of the better organised festivals I’ve been to in the last few years.

I missed the first band cos O’Connell Street was uncrossable due to the parade but seen virtually every band so far. Notables for me were Babyrat, Grá and Cabl.

I was in the Sugar club last night for a tribute to d'Angelo. Not my usual cuppa but my missus is a big Prince fan, loves all that neo soul stuff, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, d'Angelo etc. Fantastic night. 11 piece band, 3 piece brass section, 4 vocalists plus a gang of guest vocalists at the end. Played Voodoo in full plus the hits. In early enough to get a seat. Really great show, great venue, had to get used to the buzz, chat going on everywhere throughout but that was the deal, everyone seemed cool with it. Good to experience something out of your wheelhouse every now and again.

My boss was over on Friday and asked if I could come to London for a couple of days. I saw Eric Bell was playing the 100 Club so why not see the great guitarist again and an excuse to visit the iconic venue for the first time. Last saw him in August, what a guitar player.

I only caught the end of the first band because I was late leaving the house. I'd be inclined to give them a bit more time to develop their sound.

That run of For Nina, Strand, BABYRAT, Grá, and CABL after I'd had dinner was a very good 2h30. I'd add Gag Reflex and Telekura as other stand outs.

Over 9 hours of music for just about 12 hours out of the house is good return.

Think I’ve mentioned Gag Reflex here before, yeah, they were great. Missed For Nina cos I had to go out for some food.

I caught 18 bands for something like €10. The guy who organised it, Kieran, is Grand Social’s booker. He made the whole day look so easy.

Bar Italia - Button Factory, I'm afraid did nothing for me.

Hadn't commented on David Byrne last week, first time seeing him - but just wow! Music, singing, choreography, visuals and audience just phenomenal. As many have said, hard to see it being surpassed as gig of year.

2026 Gigs and Events: Bren Berry, Grant Lee Philips, Jarlath Regan, Craig Finn, Westside Cowboy, Magdalena Bay, Neil Delamare, The Streets,The Paper Kites, TJ Baham, Borderline Festival (Fri + Sat), Whitney, Stereolab (Whelans), David Byrne, Buck Meek, Bar Italia, Gene, Ora Cogan, Gorillaz, Thundercat, Belle & Sebastion x2, Jason Byrne, President, Jacob Alon, Robert Finley, Big Thief, The Big Star Quintet, Superfurry Animals, These Charming Men, Tame Impala, Kraftwerk, Ray LaMontagne, Mack Fleetwood, The Pixies, Stewart Lee, Aldous Harding, The Cure, Florence & the Machine, ATN, Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy, Cat Power, Jeff Tweedy, Ocean Colour Scene, Interpol & Bloc Party

Yep, Bar Italia a big meh from me. Second time seeing them and i won't be bothering again. They're just a bog standard indie band, nowt to be excited about. Most damning is that none of my gig buddies who were at the Workmans gig a few years back (which we all agreed was average) were in attendance last night.

Anyone else in the Workmans tonight for Jehnny Beth? It's been so long since i last saw Savages i'd forgotten how good a frontwoman she is. It even reminded me of Grinderman a couple of times. That was a set crying out to be dropped into a festival. ATN make it so, please.

Ah ****, was on the list when I saw it announced and forgot. Good then? I like her new album.

Yeah i was there last night - hadn't seen Jehnny live since Savages at EP 2016 - She was then and still is an incredible performer. The energy levels are off the charts and that voice, with it's Gallic twist is a blistering joy to behold. Band as tight as a badgers ar$e going through Cavan. Johnny Hostile, what a dude!!!

Fantastic gig last night - couldn't believe firstly that she was playing somewhere as small as Workmans and secondly, that it didn't sell out. What's wrong with people???

Support band, Yard were really good too - banging choons and the lead singer giving it socks

Both acts would make for ideal bookings for ATN

(you weren't at the front for Yard & wearing a hat were u?)

we stumbled on her DJ set at ATN last year and was class

    Yeah it was great.

Bit disappointed he didn't do Blue Lights on the Runway though.

    😆

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

No that wasn't me wearing a hat, or at the front. I thought that was one of Yard's better sets. Didn't enjoy them at all last year in Vicar Street with Sprints.

i know we've been at a lot of the same gigs and the person at the front looked familiar so i thought it might have been you

It was my first time seeing Yard, really impressed - channelling all the bits i love about Gilla Band, Chalk and other bands of that ilk….. Plus the lead singer looked like he was having a blast which is always good

Finally got to see Danny Brown live for the first time @ Olympia - excellent live performance (but still only in at second of my gigs of the year so far list - it’ll take some going to beat David Byrne).

Excellent DJ on before him too - whoever it was!

Went to see Elio Pace last night at the Ulster Hall doing his Billy Joel Songbook. Not a massive Billy Joel fan but this show was amazing. Elio is incredible and his band are top class. if you get a chance to see them I would highly recommend it. They're in Wexford tomorrow (Saturday) at the National Opera House. Still some tickets available.

Really enjoyed Gorrilaz tonight, they never put on a bad show. Lots of stuff from the Mountain obviously but the visuals helped it land. The older songs still sound fresh. I thought the sound was great and I wasn't in a particularly good spot.

Two more gigs in the books - both belters.

Gorillaz on a Wednesday were top class with the icing on the cake being the amazing cameos. Posdnuos was particularly amazing - great to see Yasmin Bey up there having fun, and even the wonderful M.E.S from beyond the grave worked well. Albarn is a genius.

Daniel Avery tonight. Was cool to see with a live band but now I REALLY want to see him without the band (as he was for the mid-section of tonight’s gig. )
