Where are you getting your exotic seeds.

Japanese horse radish is wasabi and is one of the most expensive vegetables in the world. I have plans on growing some hydroponically, because they need a lot of water.

The easiest way to get western horseradish plants is to buy a few roots in the supermarket and plant them into compost soil.

I have been growing chilli peppers of different varieties for about 10 years now, they are relatively easy to grow, though last year was a terrible year.

Edit: For the western horseradish, try your local Polish supermarket, you might find them there. I doubt you will see them in Tesco 😂

How I started was going into tesco and buying some chilli peppers, then cutting them open and taking the seeds out.

I eat a lot of eggs, so always have an egg box similar to this lying around or in the recycle bin:

I took the eggs out and in the bottom part filled each segment with peat compost, squirted some water on each section, and then planted 2-3 seeds about 2 milimetres beneath the soil and left it in a dry sunny spot(kitchen window works well!), checking each day to ensure the soil is moist but not wet.

After a couple of weeks I had a few shoots and once they were hitting the top of the plastic I replanted them into larger pots.

The advantage of this method is you get to taste the chilli peppers you will be growing so know you will like them.

For what it's worth, Im holding out on planting my seeds for 2 reasons. There will be one or two sub zero nights in the current week ahead, so if planting seeds outside it could kill them, and, I've not put together my new coldframe yet.
