Can Presidential pardons be over-turned? One would presume they'd be invalid were the president in question convicted of treason? And, as treason is a capital charge in the US, will Trump's execution be televised? He'd be so happy that his final moments would have the greatest television ratings since Neil Armstrong landed on the moon…

What was surprising initially was that the reporter is Peter from Fox News, the gent who pops up with fed questions for herself to answer. I noted that at the end of the clip, she said: go ahead Peter; giving him the opening for another question.

We've had a good few of those already over the years. We're well able for them. Sure, do you remember all of the "stolen election" nonsense we got on here right after the Orange Bellend lost in 2020? Some elements were so very certain that the election would be overturn. MAGAworld was never really that far away from us here.

Sadly , because this is the United States in 2026 (or 2028) , the candidate will have to be a White Anglo Saxon Christian man.

As capable as someone like a Mamdani or a Buttigieg or even AOC are in reality , they aren't getting elected in a National election.

Without amendments not a lot can be done, issuing pardons is in the Constitution and, frankly, there are cases that it's reasonable for the POTUS to issue them. Just like everything else. CFTrump perverted it to his own benefit.

Mamdani can't run because he wasn't born in the US. As bad as it is for me to say, their safest option is a white man. It seems that there's still many who couldn't stomach a female president; the day it was announced that Kamala Harris was running, I knew Trump had it in the bag.

Neither was Ted Cruz but he ran for the 2016 Republican Nomination against Trump. There were 17 candidates and Cruz ended up runner up to Trump with over a quarter of the party votes

Mamdani would be ineligble because he wasn't eligible for citizenship at birth (like US parent), not because he wasn't born in the US, that's not an automatic disqualifier

The smartest thing the Democrats could do is put up some lame duck candidate and allow the GOP to win the next election, and so stop the cycle of "Republicans **** it all up, Democrats come in and get blamed while trying to fix it, which leads to Republicans getting back in again".

Trumps actions now will hit hardest in a few years, so let the Republicans be in charge for that.

Younger candidates like AOC or Buttigeg would be wasted running now, run them later when they might actually be able to do something.

Yes it would really hurt the US to do this. But they are fundamentally broken, they need to hurt for a while to perhaps learn a **** lesson.

It will hurt the rest of the world too and to be honest , if the GOP get another term they replace Alito and Thomas on the Scotus Bench and the country becomes a fully fledged Autocracy (it's fairly close already) and future elections are fully compromised and it becomes utterly unrecoverable.

It's critical that the Democrats get control of congress in November to at least slow down the destruction by blocking legislation and if they get control of the Senate they can block any SCOTUS candidates that might come up (the precedent is set) and they need to spend the time publicly crawling all over every action taken by the Trump administration.
