Lots of hail showers today. Currently white outside with a heavy hail/wintry mix. Snow showing up on the radar over higher ground.

Just noticed the DUB-CFN evening flight is diverting back to Dublin . Must be some bad showers up that way

A mix of bright spring sunshine and showers. Cool in a fresh westerly wind.

Sunny Spring morning here for.parkrun. No showers as yet. Chilly but an afternoon in the garden will warm me up.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Showery blusterly weather yesterday followed by persistent rain early hours and this morning. Depressing weather.

Rugby training cancelled for the young lad.
    This weather is absolutely shite.
Extremely windy in south Dublin and fairly cold.

Its been a very wet, windy and cold morning here in north Longford. Rain has eased now and it looks like it's brightening up on the horizon. Hopefully this afternoon and the next couple of days be much better.

Much milder this morning with sunny spells pushing in from the west after a wet start. Breezy. Very windy earlier.

Very windy today. Gusts are nothing extreme but it’s sustained. Malin head recent gust 96km/h.

Yep, it was a nice enough day to look out at today in Dublin but as soon as you stepped outside the strong wind just made it really unpleasant. It's been an ok month here overall after the disastrous Jan/Feb but still has that annoying lingering feeling of winter that just won't f*** off

Same here in Meath, plenty of sun, the day looked nice, but that wind and cool temperatures really made it feel not very nice.

After a crap rain soaked winter with no snow, the cold winter temperatures now can get lost and let's look forward to warmer temperatures. Unfortunately the next 2 weeks doesn't exactly look mild or warm and there may even be some wintry conditions over Easter.

Although on the warmer end, you could find few months that are as "March-like" as 2026 in my opinion. Some absolutely horrendous days at times such as the 5th, 12th and 24th with the 5th having snow for some. Then there was also some genuinely beautiful moments such as the 3rd/4th, 6th-8th and 19th-21st. March can be characterised by these flips and other times consists of a late winter raw feel that contrasts with the increasingly stronger sun making it difficult to judge what to wear sometimes. The sun shining into the car making it feel mild so take jumper off, step outside and the wind blows. This is probably the worst aspect of Irish spring as much as I love the season. The lag of the temperature versus solar output.

Still, after how 2026 has started, it is a significant improvement. I want even better though and doesn't look like April will provide it. Maybe May/June will (before another inevitable poor July 😏).

Sorry guys, I was too excited to post yesterday. After a wet Sunday summertime morning, it brightened up in the Capital with plenty of sunshine for the Royals to collect this beauty !

Is a bright morning here in north Longford. Still a bit breezy, but not near as bad as yesterday and feeling a bit warmer at least. Still a patch or two of ligh raindrops/mizzle as well. But overall a much better looking day ahead.

A different world not far up the road in Trim, Meath. Mix of cloudy and partly cloudy spells (cloudy right now) with a gentle breeze (F3) with some moderate breeze (F4) "gusts"

I love seeing that, they get so excited to see the open fields and fresh grass!

Decent day here. Dry and calm. Great to hear the birds so chirpy and see the green coming back on the trees. The extra hour of light is mighty.

Got about 20m of timber fence painted today. Just another 80m or so to go.

    Was cold with that breeze

Oh dear, I've just had a browse through the charts and our weather for the first half of April looks shocking 😲. The pool of cold air sinking down over America really fires up the Jet in our direction. The Easter weekend looks very wet and windy and continues into the following week. It looks like there will be plenty of weather warnings ⚠️ issued particularly with the easter holidays and lots of outdoor activities planned. We might even get a named Storm thrown in for good measure !

Watching the deep dive and over the weekend there was a meteo convective vortex over the UK the weekend, do down draft or possibly a short lived tornado 🌪 I'm guessing more that as vortex is in the name, hope everyone is well , I know I've been very quiet lately, such a big difference now with clocks gone forward, I do love the longer evenings, mixed weather over the Easter weekend with some deep areas of low pressure possible and possibly even some short lived snow ❄️ but at this time of year it's gonna gonna last long nor stick for that long
