Just two headlines on RTE today:

"How Iran war is causing massive turbulence for aviation industry".

"How nations are responding to the global fuel crisis".

Chaos on a global scale caused by the unnecessary, foolish, and naive actions of one man.

So, are people still talking about the Epstein Files?

I have cousins in Florida who are very much aware that the US is swiftly becoming a laughing stock.

I listen to CNN every day and the anchors are also very much aware things are not as they should be.

So the global economic chaos is either caused by his incompetence or by his desire to protect p**dophiles, or a combination of both. Not a great look either way.

There's nothing to say, other than it's sad that the world's future lies in the hands of this monumental and unparalleled f**kwit. Why do people never learn?

That sword dancing clip is from last year isn't it? not that it makes it any less weird.

There has to be more of this. As bad as this president and his administration are, they have been getting a free ride from the press. No more just blindly accepting the nonsensical rhetoric coming from the White House but to be seen and heard to push back against it. When Leavitt starts the spin, call her on her bs. Fight fiction with facts and keep Trump accountable for everything he has ever said that contradicts himself. Hammer it home every single time. The MAGA won't get it but normal Americans( even Republicans) will

I have contempt for most of the the Trump crowd. Such narrowmindedness.

It seems from social research that the generation of White men who grew up in the Civil Rights era were quite reactionary. This paved the way for the conservative revival in the 1980s. Clinton did win two terms, but the rightwing vote was split. Ross Perot attracted many from both sides but he did endorse Anne Richards the Democratic governor of Texas in her re-election campaign in 1994.

On the other hand I have pity for others in this 'movement'. They have been let down by outsourcing, cheered on by both parties until Trump. One of the few things some on the Left would agree with Trump on is that trade deals with China led to massive job losses in manufacturing.

He’s one of the scummiest excuses for a human that ever lived and the majority of Americans are just going along with him doing something almost daily that would have seen any other president resign in disgrace. Seriously, **** all of them

He got rid of restrictions on bringing Elephant and other big game hunting trophies back to the US in his first term. All because Don Jr likes to kill endangered species for fun. May he choke on a bag of dicks.

Hes tried that already but even Bubba couldn't choke him

Trumps weakest issues in polls are the Economy and Inflation. The economy usually decides elections. 2002 was an exception but that was after 911.

    Screenshot 2026-03-31 024220.png Screenshot 2026-03-31 024209.png

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a law renaming Palm Beach Airport after Donal Trump. Estimated it could cost $5 million. A Republican on CNN at the moment argues its like naming airports after past presidents like Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford. But that was after they left office. Its part of the cult of personality I think.

Democrats accusing one of the Democrat primary candidates in the Senate race in Nebraska, William Forbes, of being a GOP plant. The US Senate is now in play. A poll a few days ago in Alaska found ex Democratic Congresswoman Mary Peltola is leading sitting GOP Senator Dan Sullivan in a poll. Also, the Ohio senate race to fill Vance's seat is close between Repubican Senator John Husted and Democrat ex Senator Sherrod Brown. Brown only lost his seat to Bernie Moreno in 2024. Husted was appointed by the Governor to replace Vance until this election.

If Paxton is the Republican candidate in Texas it might cause the anti-Paxton faction in the party not to vote for him (though thats speculation). Cornyn came first in the primary but only narrowly, and the Senate Leadership Fund (a Republican campaign fund) is reportedly ending involvement in the primary. Susan Collins' seat in Maine is also facing a strong challenge, though it depends on who the Democrat candidate is (Graham Platner or Janet Mills). Platner is perceived as further to the Left.

…..William Forbes, a 79-year-old pastor from rural Nebraska, entered the Democratic primary just before the filing deadline in early March, upending a carefully coordinated plan by state Democrats to clear the field for Osborn.

To oppose Forbes, another candidate, Cindy Burbank, also filed at the last minute on the Democratic primary ticket but has had her candidacy challenged by the state Republican Party and Nebraska’s Republican secretary of state.

In an interview with CNN, Forbes said he’s voted for President Donald Trump in multiple elections but denied being a Republican plant, insisting that he’s a lifelong Democrat. Asked repeatedly to name a Democrat he voted for, Forbes grew frustrated and said the party needed to return to the “morality” it represented under President John F. Kennedy.

Asked why he decided to run as a Democrat in the Senate race, Forbes said, “I saw that there wasn’t any Democrat on the ticket. … I’m the only Democrat, and the Democrats are going for Dan Osborn.”

    …..

The Nebraska Secretary of State, who is a Republican, tried to remove the other Democratic candidate from the ticket so that William Forbes would be automatically the Democratic candidate. A court over-ruled him.

Forbes admits having attended a conservative conference. He is anti abortion. He admits voting for Trump in several elections.

The Democrats are backing an Independent, Dan Osborne, in the Senate race. He has come close and even ahead in the 2024 Senatorial election. Jane Kleeb, the Nebraska Democrat chair has said this is a plan by Pete Ricketts (of the Republican Party) to "trick voters").

The use of religion by this WH. Is it sincere or is it cynical?

In "The Prince", Machiavelli says this about the rulers relationship with religion:

    • A ruler should appear religious, even if he is not genuinely devout.
    • Relgion helps maintain order and unity among the people. It encourages obedience and moral behaviour, which makes ruling easier.
    • A prince should seem merciful, faithful, humane and religious. But he must be ready to act against these virtues when necessary. In other words "look religious" even when you are not.
    • People are more easily governed if they believe in a moral or divine order.
    • Religion can legitimise authority and reduce resistance.
    • If being irreligious helps maintain power, the ruler should not hesitate.

A strong president is in the ME not the incompetent, pathological liar and insanely corrupt 1 and is doing deals to secured shipments of diesel for its army and investment about 10 trillion not! for air and sea drones to protect valuable infrastructure in Saudi and gulf states

US used to have exp diplomats to negotiate and calm things down now they only have griffters witcoff/cushner securing money to invest in the crime family

Fair play to Zelenskyy is hope he stays safe. World needs leaders like this.

Tyler Robinson (the guy accused of killing Charlie Kirk) news: defense attorneys say an ATF report could not conclusively link the autopsy bullet to the rifle allegedly tied to him. The claim surfaced today in a motion seeking to delay the preliminary hearing.

Lots of people online claiming of course that this is fact, as opposed to an allegation from the defence team, but it'll be interesting to see how it develops.

Edit - Nate Brooksby, the sheriff who took the call that led to Tyler Robinson turning himself in, has resigned following undisclosed complaints.

I keep thinking if it was staged, that couldn't be that stupid.... Then I check myself
