    Knott brakes or alko ?

Knott has auto reverse on them . Alko is older and does not.

Definately buy online. A few years back i found a set of 200x50 genuine knott brake shoes for 80 . Which included shoes for 2 axels.

30 a corner is the most you should pay. A machinery dealer tried charging me 65 a corner and 50 a brake cable at one stage.

    Change cables too.

Try to buy a set. Its cheaper than individually.

50 to 60 a set for good cables. Cables sticking is the biggest reason for premature wear on brakes. That combined with handbrakes being left on .

200 is the diameter of the drum.

50 the width of brake shoe .

Rip it before you get parts .

    Hubs might need changing.

    Backing plates can rot too.

We have got parts off byrne trailers in wexford before but id be inclined to go with trailerspares . He hss a good name
