My wife has completely destroyed one of the alloys on our etron against a kerb. A guy in Bray is quoting 200 quid to polish it up. No idea if that's good or bad value?

seems reasonable to me, is it diamond cut? or just painted?

If it's these guys https://www.wefixalloywheels.ie/ then I have nothing but good things to say about them. Got a set of loaner wheels from them while they were welding 2 of them for me, and got 4 wheels polished up on another occasion (parking garages in dublin are very narrow)

Try eBay.de for a used replacement wheel using the part number.

Thanks yeah it's those guys alright. They didn't have a big enough wheel to provide a replacement so they have to take the car for a couple of days which isn't ideal but we'll manage.

anyone know about Audi UK warranties? Audi dealer telling me they only give 2 years in the UK and when you buy an import from them here you get the balance. Which on a 2025 is a year and change

However Audi uk detail on warranties says there is a third year if the mileage is below 60 thousand miles.

Will be querying it with this info but just curious if others have experience of this?

My E tron 55 was a uk import and was around 2 year old when i got it and had another years warranty from Audi. What model are you looking at?

Hi all, its been a while since posting in this group. I am just coming up to a years ownership of my 2022 Etron and have added 15k to it without any issues touch wood….still loving the car. I recently found out that the UK has followed the US with the motor warranty extension. Their is multiple reports of people having motors replaced in the UK for free once the service history is up to date. Hopefully Europe will follow soon with all the pressure. I am also aware of someone who had their 2021 front motor replaced in Audi North Dublin under goodwill a couple of months ago. The level of depreciation on EV's is still crazy but the increasing fuel prices might slow it down :-)

The level of depreciation on vanity EVs, just like vanity ICE vehicles, is still crazy - but regular EVs are faring quite well actually.

If Audi Ireland would publicise this, it would really help residuals for these. Goodwill with them can be hit and miss in my experience.

Regarding the coolant leak on the Fat e tron was there ever an issue with the q4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,194 ✭✭✭joe1303l

No. Same running gear as ID.4, Enyaq etc. Pretty bulletproof.

I can only imagine what the price of this one will be.

Audi has unveiled plans for the Audi A2 e-tron, a new all-electric compact model set to make its world debut in autumn 2026. Designed and produced in Ingolstadt, this latest addition reflects the brand’s continued transition toward a fully electric future while strengthening its entry point into premium mobility.

Slightly less than its ICE equivalent?

    Looks pretty funky

Probably an ID Polo in fancy clothes with a €10K premium.

I'd say an ID.3/Born, nothing wrong with that.

Looks like an ID3. Audi A1 would be the equivalent of a Polo

Its on MEB platform as far as I know, looks a bit like a cross between cupra born and skoda elroq there. I would have thought they'd badge it A3 if so but maybe the A3 will come out with the ID Golf.

Does anyone know, if I have a UK import, would the extended Audi UK motor warranty cover the car if it developed the motor failure due to coolant leak? I'm thinking if the motor fails, could I bring the car up north to have Audi replace it under the extended UK warranty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,194 ✭✭✭joe1303l

Theoretically yes if an N.I Audi Dealer is willing to accommodate you. I’d ask them directly to confirm. Also check the fine print on the warranty paperwork in case there is some mention of where the car is registered. Whats the cost of the extended warranty ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37 magicmike2212

Hi Joe, I don't mean an extended warranty that is purchased in addition to the three year one, just the new implementation of the motor warranty in the UK that covers the coolant leak. If it has Audi UK service history, would the coolant leak failure still be covered even though it has been exported.

Grok and ChatGPT seem to think it would 'probably' be covered, just wanted to see if anyone had experience of getting warranty work done in N.I. on an imported car

Either way, your best way forward is to contact Audi Belfast or Portadown and ask them directly. You might report back on your findings as a lot of prospective e-Tron buyers have baulked over the motor coolant risk. In addition, many of the e-Trons here are UK imports anyway.

Went on a spin down to Galway and back today car averaged 20kwh per 100km kept it at 120km, Ended up charging at Ionity Athlone while going for a bite to eat. First time using the chargers was not as straight forward as ESB but eventually got it going. Was only in the services for a few mins and came out with nearly 70% charge.

I take it most people just put enough into the car to get them home and use the home charger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,507 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

Yep exactly. That's why the higher charges at public charge points aren't really as scary as they sound, you're basically just taking enough to get home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,966 ✭✭✭donkey balls

They took out €40 from the CC as pre payment and by the time i got back to the charger i was charged €34 easily got have just paid €10.

Another thing they are 350KW chargers but on average it showed 117KW going in does this depend on how many others are charging at the time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,507 ✭✭✭MojoMaker

Depends on how much your car can draw at any given time, and that's usually a lot less than the headline rate they'd have you believe. 117kw is about average, and respectable, certainly not slow.

Very few cars can draw anything near 250kw/h, at least not on standard 400v architecture.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,966 ✭✭✭donkey balls

The A6 has 800 volt architecture seemingly.
