Ah it's absolutely in the discussion. Think everyone would have fancied Pidcock but in hindsight he probably completely emptied the tank to stay with Pogi's attacks on both the Cipressa and Poggio. I'm sure he'll think he could have won it but that's equally up there with his best performances.

Van Aert looked a little disappointed on the podium but also seemed relieved that he's back performing at top level again. Pidcock had a face like thunder on him.

I hope Pog does win Roubaix but I hope he has to wait years to do it. Like Valverde and the Worlds except better because Pog isn't a c_nt.

Thoughts on Pogacar saying he's never coming back to MSR? I mean, he really could have been joking and, knowing he can win it, doesn't strike me as the sort of guy to just leave it, but equally could easily understand if his thought process was "mission complete" in relation to it.

if he doesnt win P-R this year, could see him focusing on solely that for Spring next year, and doing more of the cobbled belgian/french races that are on at same time as MSR - Denain, Gent-Wevelgem, DVV, etc., as prep

Anyone know what's up with Archie Ryan? Still no sign of him on any startlists :-(

I see Bennett started Catalunya today, Rafferty too for EF. Did not realise Sam was down for this at all, must have been a late addition. Only one real sprint stage and its after a lumpy day…

Looking at yesterdays stage which was a brilliant watch last 20km i really hope Remco takes in San Remo next year, no reason for him to fear the race at all.

Does anyone know if you can get odds on Pogi winning all five monuments in the same year……..? 🤔

Couldn't even get odds for him for MSR on Saturday

He's currently listed at 2/7 for RVV & 2/1 for P-R, no odds for LBL and presumably would be well under evens for Il Lombardia too.

Before MSR, i'd guess 20/1 or slightly under. Now its probably 10/1 or less.

Anyone watching volta de Catalunya? What the fcuk is up with Vingegaard's torso? Looks like he's wearing a bullet proof vest or something under his jersey? It's way out of proportion with his body and that of everyone else around him.

Is it of those new MotoGP style airbags or something??

Re Jonas @fat bloke , nothing showing up on any search I did. Photos from Paris-Nice showed similar “under jacket”. If it’s not an airbag could it be a back support following crash in January?

Am I imagining things? He looks like SpongeBob SquarePants 😁

He seems to have been trying out some weird clothing techniques recently. Maybe it's to keep warm.

Archie is listed on PCS for the Tour of the Basque Country starting next week (along with Ben Healy and Jamie Meehan)

Dillon Corkery on the list for Tour of Flanders too

Dillon Corkery and Sam Bennett in action at the men's Dwars door Vlaanderen tomorrow (Wednesday).

Mia Griffin and Fiona Mangan are in the women's edition.

WVA and DDV just dont mix...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,385 ✭✭✭Mefistofelino

Neither Bennett nor Corkery finished the men's race but Mia Griffin is in a 7 rider group with a 1:40 advantage and 50 km to go in the women's race

Edit: PCS have got their sh!t together and are now reporting it as a 30 second gap, not 1:40

Still its good to see that Wout has got his mojo back

Remco confirmed for his Ronde debut.

The crowd is gonna be feral if he is in contention towards the end.

Was he sprinting from 700m back? It was a hell of an effort.

Would love to see the power he was putting out

Archie is also listed for Branantse Pijl which could be an indicator he's set for the Ardennes all going well.

Remco lining up bringing another dimension to RVV but hard to see anything other than Pog riding to solo victory.
