How do they binge old sitcoms and dramas? (are they binging newer comedies/dramas?)

Live sport is available on streaming services (including those provided by Broadcasters).

Across the board people are watching less TV than in the past.

In saying this I view each service as a platform, weather traditional TV or streaming.

    ______

In the end they were just greedy, they all knew one another and knew what to expect more money for no return, it was a secure cash flow, but in fairness they looked for what they wanted and fair dues to them for that, and wouldn't you be doing the same!

Just one more thing .... when did they return that car

I no longer distinguish between Linear and Streaming when I think about TV. TV also no longer has to be watched on an actual TV. How they watch it has changed but people are still watching a lot of TV.

Sky are releasing a streaming package giving Sky content, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu in one subscription for €28 per month for 12 months

Crucially, there will be un-skippable adverts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,057 ✭✭✭whatever76

I had a Disney + for 10.99 month - last week got option on Sky box to move it to sky - Sky covering 8.99 a month now and I only pay 3 euro a month under Sky Marketplace - Disney have paused my subscription payments to them - this the path to keep the ad free service I guess for Disney + current user base .

I bought the €160/year Disney+ package and split it with 3 of my friends. So we pay €40 a year each for the ad free 4k experience

    • Full HD video resolution
    • Not all movies included

    Standard with ads: €7/month

    • Stream on 2 devices at once
    • Full HD video resolution
    • 30 downloads (limits apply)

    Standard: €11/month

    • Stream on 2 devices at once
    • Full HD video resolution
    • 30 downloads (limits apply)

    Premium: €16/month

    • Stream on 4 devices at once
    • 4K UHD & Dolby Atmos as available
    • 100 downloads (limits apply)

NOW TV implementation seems decent so far, it has its own section like Hayu.

A lot of Discovery+ content is now on HBO Max. If subscribing to both, it’s worth checking if the shows you are interested in are available. I cancelled Discovery+ as most of the shows I watch are available.

Installed HBO Max on my LG television this morning.

Yes, I got HBOMax for €4 a month via a nowtv code over on Bargain Alerts. According to NowTV website it's the same as the "basic package with ads" so some of the latest WB movies aren't available. Seems most of the films from the last 12 months are missing but the TV series are fairly up-to-date. Note that "with ads" doesn't actually apply if you have boost

I already have UHD boost on Now for sports so should get UHD and no ads and I also signed up for a month direct with HBO on their standard tier with ads to contrast both versions. From a quick look, a lot of movies are included on Now, only recent ones like Superman, Minecraft, Sinners etc are unavailable. HBO app layout looks exactly the same as Discovery+

Will have a proper look at both versions over the weekend.

Presumably NowTV didn't want to give the standard tier as it directly competes with sky cinema. Roughly anything from over a year ago is there

There is supposed to be a way for Now customers to sign up for an account with the standalone HBO Max app, I say “supposed” because I have tried the instructions and cannot get past the first step.

Is TNT sports also part of this deal??

You need Sky Cinema pass for the latest WB movies. This is the same as the basic ad supported tier direct from HBO.

This was all explained to existing NowTV customers in the weeks leading up to the launch of the HBO service here.

No, WB have left Sky to run there sports channels in Ireland, no change in access.

No, Irish minority sports watchers still f*cked over.

To be fair there are some good deals to be found with Sports Extra, if you check out the Now TV Bargain Alerts thread. It can be got for as little as €10-15. In the UK, there are no deals, and TNT Sport through HBO Max costs a minimum of £28 sterling - and that doesn’t include Premier Sports like Sports Extra does.

As has been pointed out before, cycling and other minority sports followers cannot access "on demand", and can only access channels 1-4 live. It's not a bargain if you can't access the rights they hold.

No dolby atmos through the sky q app. Downloaded app through Sony TV and logged in that way and atmos works

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 92 ✭✭LBF21

the ads are painful. Seven ads are the start of show and ads in the middle too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,318 ✭✭✭Spon Farmer

no atmos showing for me on the Apple version of the app.

I am very disappointed that isn’t some classic cartoons from Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, etc

I knew they wouldn’t have them all because of fragile emotions these days but the vast majority of them are “acceptable”.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 687 ✭✭✭smurf492

If you can download the app through your TV then it should work as it did for me. It seems to be an issue with third party apps from what I have read

Movie selection seems limited based on a quick look. Seeing as they have WB’s catalogue I think I was expecting a lot more

There isn’t a lot in the library at all. I suppose they have to work on distribution rights and such.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,318 ✭✭✭Spon Farmer

All the logos are showing now. And Atmos is working.

I don’t know why they were not before but happy days
