We went to Rovaniemi and it was wonderful. Levi is further north and was too far of a schelp for us when we were only going for a few nights. We had an absolute ball in Rovaniemi. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Was there in summer for a football match years ago. No snow but the midnight sun was an experience!!

Ah in fairness they gave it a briiliant shot, at least the fans that travelled got a good game.

Penos are always unfair, very cruel.

Penos are cruel but I think they lost it in the 90minutes if I’m being honest. Gave away a silly penalty that cost them the first Czech goal.

I stayed up far too late to watch that. The peno we gave away in normal time…

Yep. Just as I was said 'dont do anything silly in the next 5-10 minutes & we're laughing' Manning did that….

    Ah well. sh*t happens.

Dragging the kids out of bed this morning was fun - said they could sit up for the first half, but sure then it was exciting so I said "fine, stay up for the second half"…two hours later, it was actually bedtime 🙈 Youngest fell asleep on the couch. She was well ready for the leaba at 8:30 but if the other two were staying up, she was too 🙃 FOMO is a real deal when you are 5 😂

They may have got less sleep but it's something they will remember, it would have been even a better memory if we won!

I still remember been allowed stay up later for Eurovision all those years ago

You're so right. I still remember my Dad waking my brother and me up at 3am in 1982 to watch Gerry Cooney take on Larry Holmes for the heavyweight title. Cooney had an Irish connection but was outclassed by the great Holmes.

Thanks for reminding me of a memory like this, I would have been 9 at the time and my brother was 6.

Just back from doing the Easter bunny shop. I was in dunnes and it was lovely and empty, though my car still managed to make 2 friends in an empty car park 🙄.

There's still plenty of stock but if you want a particular egg I wouldn't be leaving it to last minute. Mine wanted kinder and lots of Barbie but only a handful of hot wheels.

I had a fall today, I honestly don't know how. However a ping pong ball wouldn't have bounced back up as quick. 🙈 Knees are all cut and bruising is already starting. However I was able to drive and walk around Dunnes so it is easing.

Lovely day here and Saturday as well, so not too bad. Also, brighter evenings starting tomorrow.

We are going to my Dad's house this evening as it's my Mam's 2 year anniversary mass. I never go to church but it's tradition and the whole family will gather together after which I'm really looking forward to.

Sorry about your fall, ( im saying this with a slight grin on my face, the ping pong ball comment).

Don't understand the lonely car syndrome thing, why some people pull onto car park see one car in it and have to park in the space next to it.

The clocks changing never bothered me until I had kids.....they would always have just settled into a routine and boom clocks change 😡 😡

Currently nursing a slight hangover, not too bad. Little elf was off with her mother to the cafe for the last while. It's raining and windy out so when she arrived back she asked could she lie down on my bed with me and watch the Grinch. Works for me!

The difference the brighter evening made to that dog walk! Much easier!

The change in light versus time today was incredible, almost felt like we skipped weeks and not just an hour.

Loved the bright evening last night but this morning it feels like 5 hours were taken from me not 1!

The daylight is great, although my cat didn't adjust for clocks changing.

She usually likes to go out to the back garden at 11 and then cuddle. Well at midnight she got up for her nightly routine while I was trying to sleep 😂. Although the other cat slept right through it so at least I didn't have two to deal with.

And it will only get brighter and remain this current level of brightness until September.

It's such a bright morning today - but it's freezing too.

Hope all went well & you all had a nice evening. We marked my FIL's 1st anniversary there a couple of weeks back and it was hard going on my wife, she got very emotional around that and the funeral anniversary a few days later.

    Ok, I've booked Dooley's for Winterval 😂

It was the only central hotel I could find with family rooms. Unless anyone here has any other recommendations? When they confirmed my booking they said there isn't parking at the hotel though, which is annoying. Where do people park?
