I've never thought that Trump is an idiot. In fact, I think that is quite a dangerous thing to think about because all it really does is cause his opponents to constantly underestimate him, which is what has happened over the last decade.

He is smart, if in an animal cunning type way, of knowing how to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and not only has he managed to get himself elected as president of the USA twice, but he has also purged the Republican party of pretty much all dissent.

Now, that is not to say he is not an ignoramus, because he certainly is a raging one in many ways, but ignorance and intelligence are often confused and conflated. He is utterly ignorant of political matters, especially concerning nuances contained therein. Couldn't give a toss about statecraft. He is not a learned man in most any of the day to day business a US president would typically engage in.

But it doesn't matter to him or his followers because for him the presidency is entirely about entrenching his personal glory and subduing his enemies. Evidently, it doesn't matter to his followers, either.

While he was shouting crooked hilary he was paying off a pornstar with campaign funds to stay quite. His hypocrisy was was off the charts something he was found guilty on and be in jail not the WH.
