Volvo EX60

I have a 5 series touring and I wouldn’t dream of going with the i5, it’s wildly outdated and overpriced now. I’d just wait for the other ix3 versions expected by end of year are the 40 and the 40xdrive with a 30 possibly in 2027. You’d expect the 40 to be at least 10k cheaper than 50xdrive, the 40xdrive maybe 6k cheaper. By the time they arrive there will be some proper reports on the ex60 and even the i3.

The ex60, ix3 (and i3) and glc400 are a big step forward for premium EVs, I wouldn’t even glance at anything else as they will continue to plummet in value as the new variants launch. Eg you buy an i5 40 now for 75k, and the ix3 40 launches in October with everything new and way more range for 62k, your i5 is work about 40k by Jan 2027 (the same ones will be sitting on forecourts gradually coming down but they’ll still be looking for 65k next year while offering you 40k trade in to take one as a trade)

If you really couldn’t just wait, I’d buy a year or two old hybrid, eg a 2025 530e touring with 100km battery for €62k or so, at least you wouldn’t lose as much money on it.
