February is on the way, and that means LOI football is on the way.

What was in large part a pretty bleak 2025 season finished with an unlikely run to the playoff final and a cruel defeat by Bray, so it did end with some optimism.

But since then, we've seen the inevitable loss of Lee Devitt to Galway (and best of luck to him there), as well as Corey Chambers and Evan O'Connor among a few others. We've also seen players coming in, most notably Jack Brady, Cian Curtis, and Eric Yoro.Overall, with the loss of Devitt, we're in a weaker spot than last season I'd say. Huge holes in midfield, just like last season.

The women's team continue to bring players in, still some from Canada, but there was a mass exodus just 3 days ago with 8 players leaving the club, so not sure what this season will be like for them.

We also saw the the deaprture of Ciara McCormack as CEO. Not sure of the impact of that.

We've already had a few games. We lost a friendly 2-0 to Galway and beat Kerry 4-2, while we are out of the Munster Senior Cup already after losing in entra-time last night awat to Ringmahon Rangers. We have a friendly today against Sligo at 2pm (in Wesport, for whatever reason).

First match of the season is away to Cork Friday February 13th -nasty one to start.

There's a full set of fixtures here: Men's fixtures Women's fixtures

You can pick up season tickets - It's €259 (€249 early bird) for an all-access pass, or €224 (€210 early bird) for the men's games and €70 (€60 early bird) for the women's games.

Info for all types is available here: https://treatyunited.ticketco.shop/

I cannot see any individual match ticket prices yet. Last year it was €14 for an adult per game.

If, like me, you're not able to attend many games live, the LOI pass is good value, at €99 for every game for all teams: https://www.loitv.ie/ie

If you are looking for club mechandise, you can do so here: https://treatyunitedfc.myshopify.com/

    Hon the Treaty!

It's true that almost all players (certainly in Division 1) are on one-season deals, but the 8 leaving are as follows: Karl O'Sullivan, Patrick Ferry, Eoin Martin, Joe Hanson, Niko Kozlowski, Connor Wilson, Dean Owens and Chris Horgan.

Certainly, O'Sullivan, Ferry, and Koslowski are departures that will weaken Treaty.

Lee Lynch has also left, which is perhaps the biggest loss of all.

Unless replacements come in, we will be (even more) weak in midfield and lightweight up front.

Aside from all that, the new kits have been released, and in my opinion at least, they, and the collars in particular, are pretty bad:

Apologies all, forgot to mention that we start the season away to Cork tonight.

Going to be a long painful season I think.

    Cork 1-0 Treaty

Cork grabbed a last-minute winner in an entertaining match tonight.

The first half was even enough. Both sides had chances and Treaty hit the post midway through the half.

But as the second half wore on, Cork became the dominant team, and even though it looked like we might escape with a point after a resolute defensive effort, they poked home an injury time winner.

Still, a much more competitive game than I thought we would offer.

Next game: home to Bray, Friday February 20th, 7.45pm.

    Treaty 0-1 Bray

Disappointment for Treaty in the first home game of the season.

We can be very aggrieved that Bray were not down to 10 men within 2 minutes for what looked like denying a goal scoring opportunity just outside the box, and we started well in general.

Bray came back into it and had the best chance of the half when their striker got in behind the defence but placed his shot the wrong side of the post.

It was even enough in the second half, with Bray perhaps slightly more dangerous, and they took the lead with a lovely header about 20 minutes in.

Treaty huffed and puffed after that but Bray defended handily enough. When the big chance finally did arrive with two minutes to go, Mark Byrne was far too tame with his far post finish of a ball across the box, allowing the defender to block, and that was that.

Next game: away to UCD, Friday September 27th, 7.45,pm.

    UCD 2-0 Treaty

Three losses in a row leaves us bottom of the league and we are still to score a goal this season.

We started terribly, and we were 1 down after six minutes, and things didn't improve, and we were 2 down after half an hour.

We were somewhat better in the second half. We stabilised in defense and managed to put some passes together, had good periods of possession, but our total lack of any attacking threat meant we never looked like getting back into the game.

I think we didn't get a shot on target until a team header in injury time.

It's going to be a long grim season.

Next game: home to Kerry, Friday March 6th, 7.45pm.

really good second half performance but seriously missing something up front , great support all night above , it looked like something you would see in serie b in italy where the away supporters arrive 15 minutes late into the game

i dont think its going to be as grim , the first goal was down to passive defensive , the second was actually a good goal , but we have no cutting edge upfront , enda curran and lee devitt are huge bodies to replace , it looks like we are miles away in that department ,the back 4 and midfield actually looked okay tonight

    Treaty 2-2 Kerry

    (Curtis 2, 1 penalty)

We finally got off the mark tonight and picked up our first point of the season.

We were very poor and slow and ponderous in the first half and went behind after 15 minutes when a Kerry player was left in acres of space at the back post from a free kick and slammed the ball home from close range. We had half-chances through Oyenuga and Nwankwo, but Kerry defended easily enough.

We upped the pace a bit in the second half, and finally got our first goal of the season when a weak clearance fell to Cian Curtis and his shot was either deflected or mishit, but it crept into a corner with the keeper flatfooted.

The relief didn't last long, as a few players froze thinking a ball had one over the byline, and a Kerry player nipped in in front of Ohin and went down for what looked a very soft penalty, which was scored.

We pressed and Kerry retreated back to the final third, and it was just attack for the last few minutes. It didn't look like yielding anything though, until in the final minute Fionn Doherty got himself in front of a defender about to clear, allowed himself to be brought down, and Curtis scored the penalty. There was even time for Nwankwo to head over from close range, but the draw is fair enough.

Next game: away to Finn Harps, Friday March 13th, 7.45pm.

    Finn Harps 2-2 Treaty

    (Oyenuga 2)

Late late disappointment for Treaty tonight.

It was a very open first half, and we were 2-0 up with 20 minutes. Two super goals from Jason Oyenuga, the first a lovely run and finish, the second a rocket.

Harps came close through a massive scramble, while we had other chances too.

I didn't get to see much of the second half, but updates told me that Harps pulled one back with 12 minutes to go, and equalised in the 4th minute of injury time.

So close to our first win of the season.

Next game: home to Athlone, Friday March 30, 7.45pm.

    Treaty 2-0 Athlone

    (Feeney, Curtis penalty)

Treaty finally picked up their first win of the season after a comfortable win over a very poor Athlone side.

The first half was a completely forgettable affair. Treaty created absolutely nothing, while Athlone had one good shot from outside the area that needed a smart save from Brady.

We took the lead very early in the second half. A low ball into the box caused a bit of a poor clearance and a scramble, and Ben Feeney reacted quickest to fire home a low shot at the keeper's near post.

We doubled our lead soon after the hour mark. Jevontae Layne was dragged back in the box, and Cian Curtis fired high into the net.

After that, Athlone offered virtually nothing in attack, and it ended up being a very comfortable night.

Next game: away to Wexford, Friday March 28, 7.45pm.

    Wexford 3-2 Treaty

    (Feeney, own goal)

Poor performance got the result it deserved tonight.

We started very slowly and were behind after only 3 minutes when a defensive mix-up allowed a striker in on goal.

We could have been further behind with Wexford claiming that a header had crossed the line, but the ref wasn't having it.

Both sides missed penalties later on in the half.

We drew level early in the second half when Ben Feeney got there before a defender to meet a cross and power a header to the net, but Wexford regained the lead soon after, converting a cross of their own.

And they more or less sealed it with about 20 minutes to go when one of their players did very very well to hold on to possession and set up a shooting chance from the edge of the area.

We did have some chances ourselves, forcing some good saves, but our goal came about from an almost comical scramble in the box, and I have no idea who actually got the final touch.

Next game: home versus Longford, Friday April 3rd, 7.45pm.

    Treaty 0-0 Longford

This was the first game I've actually been to all season, and it was one of the worst football games I've ever seen. Both sides are at the wrong end of the table, and it's easy to see why. Treaty offered absolutely no threat of any kind for the entire game, and Longford were little better.

Very late on we had Jack Brady to thank for a truly superb save low to his left after a well worked move and cutback, and that was without doubt the best moment of quality (in both the defence and attack) of an atrocious game.

Next game: away to Cobh, Bank Holiday Monday April 6th, 5pm (Note the different time)

Anyone down in Cork at the match? Not looking good. First half hat trick and 4 down before the hour mark.

    Cobh 4-0 Treaty

    Another dreadful performance tonight.

The first half in particular was just brutal. We were so lazy and sloppy all over the pitch, and the first goal came from us loing the ball under no pressure in midfield. We were easily cut apart defensively for a second, and then gave away a penalty just before halftime to leave it 3-0 at the break.

We conceded a 4th just a few minutes into the second half, and it was only then that we gained any kind of foothold in the game, as Cobh were able to ease off. Ohin came close with a chance, and we had a nice move and headed chance late on, but anything positive happened only after the game had already been lost, and even then, we needed Brady to avoid conceding more.

Bottom of the table, and deservedly so. Next game doesn't help either.

Next game: Home to Cork, Friday April 10, 7.45pm.

Forgot to update but the Cork game was postponed due to a late pitch instpection of a wet pitch only an hour before kickoff.

Cork fans rightly frustrated at the lack of an earlier inspection.

    Kerry 1-1 Treaty

    (Curtis penalty)

A poor bottom-of-the-table clash in the kingdom tonight.

We were ahead after 10 minutes from the penalty spot after a Kerry defender was (harshly, in my opinion) ruled to have brought down a Treaty attacker.

After that we continued to shade things in a poor first half.

Kerry equalised early in the second half from a very nice header from across. And as the game wore on they looked more likely to score, forcing one brilliant save from Brady and coming close a couple of other times, but we held on.

Next time: home to UCD, Friday April 24, 7.45pm

    Treaty 0-3 UCD

Another dreadful performance tonight as we barely registered a shot on target.

UCD scored early from a broken ball after a corner, and added a second soon after from a player arriving late from a long cross into the box.

The second was a procession for UCD as they passed the ball round with ease, while Treaty offered absolutely no threat of any kind. The added a third with a smart finish from the edge of the area, and the game petered out into another utterly disheartening night for Treaty fans, with boos ringing out and some chanting for Tommy Barrett to step down.

Next game: away to Bray, Friday May 1st, 7.45pm

    Bray 2-2 Treaty

    (Oyenuga, Lynch)

Topsy turvy match a decent first half tonight.

We took the lead when Oyenuga did brilliantly to charge into the box and finish after just 10 minutes, and held out comfortably enough for the rest of the half.

Bray gradually gained control in the second half, and it all unravelled in 7 minutes midway through the half, with Bray scoring two goals and Oyenuga getting sent off in between. We also had Brady to a thank for a superb save from a low near post header.

But we stayed in it and equalised when Boevi brilliantly hooked a deep free kick across the box for Ben Lynch to fire home, and while Bray had more chances late on, we had chances on the counter and earned a share of the spoils.

Next game: home to Wexford, Bank Holiday Monday May 4th, 5pm.

    Treaty 1-0 Wexford

    (Cunningham)

Second win of the season for Treaty, which looked unlikely for most of the game.

Wexford spent most of the first half with more of the territory and possession, and a combination of decent defending, good keeping, and some bad decision-making kept them at bay.

The second half started more evenly, but eventually Wexford gained the upper hand and things progressed similar to the first, with Wexford hitting the post from one attack.

The game changed completely on 83 minutes with a second yellow for a Wexfor defender. From then on, it was Treaty on the offensive with Wexford retreating. Some lovely interplay sent Cian Curtis in behind the defence but his shot was half-blocked by a defender, allowing an easy save, and that looked like our chance gone.

But in the 4th minute of injury time, some more lovely passing sent Brian Cunningham in behind the defence and though the keeper saved his first attempt, he poked the rebound high into the net for a late late winner.

Next game: away to Athlone, Friday May 8th, 7.45pm.

    Athlone 0-0 Treaty

This was a game in which very little happened. Athlone had more of the territory and possession but did very little with it.

The three interesting moments of the game came when Athlone hit the crossbar in a mad scramble just before half time, we got the crossbar from a Nwankwo header in the second half, and then a big brawl just before full time.

    Still, 3 games unbeaten.

Next game: home to Finn Harps, Friday May 15, 7.45pm.

    Treaty 3-0 Finn Harps

    (Manning, Curtis 2).

A very comfortable win after what was by far Treaty's best performance of the season so far.

It was even enough for the first 10 minutes, and then Harps got on top for a while, blazing one good chance over the bar.

But we went ahead from a beautiful move. Oyenuga did brilliantly to release the fullback down the left wing, his perfect across into the box was chested down by Curtis, and Manning arrived to slam home.

We doubled the lead when another ball into the box found Curtis, who jinked himself a yard of space and beat the keeper low to his near post.

Harps came out attacking in the second half, but we hit them on the break to make it 3-0 just eight minutes into the half. Yoro played a ball in behind the defence, and Curtis fired home past a wrong-footed keeper from about 18 yards.

Harps offered very very little after that, and Treaty basically cruised to a convincing win.

Kerry won as well, so we stay bottom of the table, but we are closing the gap with the teams above us.

Next game: home to Cobh, Friday May 22,7.45pm.

    Treaty 1-2 Cobh

    (Curtis)

A late goal cost Treaty a point tonight, in a game delayed because of Cobh's late arrival.

The first half was a very uneventful affair - I cannot remember either side really threatening at all, or forcing the keeper into any meaningful action.

The second half started in the same way, but we went ahead about 15 minutes in when Curtis got in behind the defence and beat the keeper with his, and the defender sliding to try and block could only nudged the ball onto the post (and possibly back off himself) before it crossed the line.

Our lead didn't last long though - a delicate glancing header from a beautiful inswinging cross drew Cobh level, and then the last 10 miniutes were probably the most lively of all, with both sides keep to attack. But it was Cobh who got a 90th minute break - a low ball across the box into that horrible space between the defensive and midfield lines, and a Cobh player was brought down as he tried to work a yard for himself.

They scored the penalty, and though we knocked long balls into their box in search of an equaliser, it never came.

Next game: home to Cork, Monday May 25th, 7.45pm. Note the unusual day - this is making up a postponed match earlier in the season.

    Treaty 0-1 Cork

This was actually a more competitive match than I expected, in the second half at least. Cork were by far the better team in the first half, and went ahead after half an hour from what looked like a softly-conceded penalty. Our only chance was when Curtis poked a lob over the keeper, but the keeper was able to claw it away for a corner.

The second half was a different story - their keeper needed to make a super point-blank save from a 'hook over the shoulder' type shot, and while Cork missed chances too - a point blank header glanced wide, a goal disallowed, and Brady had to make one excellent low save - it was Treaty who had more of the chances.Curtis twice came close with shots across goal that went just over/wide, Oyenuga did brilliantly to jink into the box but then blazed over, Yoro fired wide from a good position…but we never found the net.

The lack of a big frontman is killing us.

Next game: away to Longford, Friday May 29, 7.45pm.

    Longford 3-1 Treaty

    (Feeney)

Three losses in a row for Treaty, after another poor performance tonight.

We were one down within seven minutes, when Jack Brady left his goal to try and clear, but ended up having the ball lobbed back over his head from about 35 yards.

We offered very little in attack, and Longford easily maintained their lead until half time.

Longford went 2 up midway through the second half when a striker finished a long ball over the top.

It looked like Treaty might set up a late rally when Ben Feeney fired into the top corner in the 91st minute, but Longford went straight up the pitch and made it 3-1.

Next game: home to Bray, Friday June 12, 7.45pm.
