Hooded Crow Window Issue

    Hi,

We are at our wits end and need some guidance!

For the last year now at this stage, we have a large, hooded crow attacking our downstairs windows each morning – very aggressive loud pecking and flapping at the windows.

He sees his reflection and identifies a possible threat I assume.

We tolerated it in the winter as he normally doesn’t come until say after 8 or 9am and we were all up going to work and school etc.

But now summertime is coming in, he is getting earlier and earlier and waking the whole house from 6am and never mind the coming weeks when the clocks go back.

We have tried all of the usual bird deterrents (spikes, sounders, fake Hawkes etc) but none of them have stopped him.

They might throw him off for a day or two, but he always figures it out and comes back.

It is not practical for use to cover the glass with anti-reflecting coating as it’s a modern house with a lot of glazing.

We have contacted pest control companies, but apparently hooded crows are protected, and they can’t do anything for us.

Any advice on what we could try would be great.
