Well, that's that! Horrible way to lose. Some things didn't go out way. 2-0 up after 23 minutes and all was rosy. Dreadful penalty to concede.

Tomorrow's Liveline is going to be 😿.

I don't think Denmark will fear the Czechs. They didn't score from open play, engaged in theatrics and nasty late fouls.

    Yeah horrible.

But not as horrible as tomorrow's Liveline I'm going to guess 🤢🤔

What a waste of money sending a load of Irish media over there for nothing.

I agree. But the RTE staff won't care, they got a free trip.

Alexa, turn off the Internet for the next 3 days. It is going to be insufferable.

Perhaps Kieran and his crack team would venture into one of the many Gentlemens clubs in Prague and thank the girls for their service so-to-speak? 😂

Can you imagine the pearl clutching back home in Eire?

I reckon today could be hilarious but for all the wrong reasons.

The new lad will hardly be back on today?

A day's travel in lieu will be taken be a hell of a lot of them today, Monday and Tuesday.

You (not Cadbury) are paying for that.

I wonder was Troy's missus doing a lot of twidling of her ring during the penalty shootout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,324 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

They said they'd be live from Prague today, probably assuming we were going to win, instead they'll have people literally crying into their pints.

You can always count on Liveline to bring the misery.

Whacker's ticket from his da friend who can get tickets for everything did not wurk. How do you get a refund for faulty tickets?

Joxter needs a lift home ASAP. Before the post office will sends his dole back. Do you have space in your Hiace?

    Are they??? Wow.

I heard some of yesterday's slop. It was poor, I thought. Crap pub band and Cuddihy himself was underwhelming.

I almost felt a yearning for Syl Fox with a few jokes older than himself and Packie O'Callaghan doing impressions of people who left public life a generation ago. And maybe a "Hong Kong Dong" joke from some terrible Dub comedian, doing the accent. Almost.

    The New Lad,

    • Air left balloon: Disappointing. Look at the bright side, so to speak.
    • Mad Stories: Ways into the stadium...
    • Home here: Talking to Paddies living in the Czech Republic.
    • Music: Some lad called Buddy Baker will play a reel or two.

Between Des Cahill and the high jinks of "de fellas" and Henry McKeen talking about "Ahh-lund" fans, I had enough of it well before a ball was kicked.

Well I'm delighted this happened! Not that Ireland lost the match last night but that yet again, RTE have egg all over their face for bigging up this game, assuming we were on our way to the USA, obsessing over Troy Parrot , having wall to wall coverage all week. I am just delighted. RTE are idiots, we do this all the time and NEVER learn!

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched never made more sense than now. The pressure on the the team, the madness of the hype at this qualifying stage of things, the insanity olé oléing all over Prague for the last 2 days! We simply never learn. Now the downer is bigger than it should be and RTE will still and drag the shyte out of it today.

Half of RTE seemed to be in Prague, then the 9 o'clock news last night had an interview with Troy Parrots neighbours…… it must have been at least 5 minutes long, every man, woman and child on the street was interviewed. I switched over to The Chase on C4 twice and came back and the interview was STILL going on! And this was only halfway through the game. Madness.

Instead of olé olé olé it should be "we told ye, we told ye we told ye"……….

Kieran Cuddihy is an idiot………inane stupid repetitive questions………..and that was yesterday, will there be a post mortem today? I'd say most are already on their way home.

    #metoo

hope that Callan's Kicks takes the dire pee out of RTE & NT for their OTT coverage about twenty two grown men chasing a wee ball around a field

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,407 ✭✭✭Expunge

    Yes, absolutely.

This idiotic policy of flooding the RTE zone in a lame attempt to "reflect the national psyche" and connect with the people leads to irritating wall to wall, relentless, shallow coverage.

That person running RTE Radio - the head of audio or whatever pompous title she has - went too far.

Everything seems to be seen through a social media lens on RTE radio these days. All those resources spaffed up against the wall just to have some clippings for Instagram.

I don't think it'll bring in many new listeners from Insta to RTE but maybe I'll be wrong.

The next Rugby World Cup will be her next target (with Cadburys) to bring us together as a nation.

It's a bit of a disaster for Public Service broadcasting and diversity of programming, if anyone cares about that anymore.

Thats what she said she did during the game when Kieran was interviewing her. Kieran was giggling like a schoolboy and said we better move on.

Not before I nearly crashed the car

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,690 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

PSA - plenty of tickets available for Tuesday's friendly.

    Repeat.

    'Plenty'

Seeing as how ticket talk was a massive thing yesterday, I assume RTE will announce de same

today’s programme featuring humerous anecdotes from the whackers in Prague , high jinx and sure everybody just loves de Oirish fans. 😏. The Czechs unsporting blowing of sirens during the penos. Brenda interviewing Troy’s ma asking how she feels now. Some random salt of de earth inner city doobaroos ringing in to tell Kieran they’re so proud of Troy and de lads. In reality, with the exception of three players maybe were a mediocre team ran by a nice but mediocre manager. RTE cop the F€&k on… please

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Paid Member Posts: 11,589 Mod ✭✭✭✭squonk

That siren thing looked desperate. I was wondering watching the penalties if it was an external sound to the ground but seemed too deliberate. Seemed very unsporting and should have been cut out or tge local association penalised in some way.
