The Finglas "bus corridor" does very little for the F spine routes, but I am curious if the works will help the issues/delays with the Whitworth Road at all. It's the main blockage on the route but the corridor does nothing for it directly. The works around Glasnevin and then Dorset St for the Swords corridor might help

It will help Whitworth road a bit. The traffic changes will give better priority to buses making the left turna and I believe also remove private traffic left turns from the bus lane too.

Both changes, while not enough, will go a long way.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up overtaking Liffey Valley in terms of progress.

Graham are looking to start on ballymun/Finglas in Q3 of this year. Let's say that's July, they could easily beat liffey valley to actually breaking ground. Presumably theyre taking this time to sort the detailed design.

According To the schedule on the liffeyvalley scheme website theyre supposed to be FINISHING the city centre section in April of this year. No works have commenced as of yet.

How is it even possible work hasn't commenced?😡 This is a very bad sign for other projects if they can't start on a bus lane in a coherent manner. All the construction timetables released in the bin.

Not an official word as to why of course.

GMC are now working at the Inchicore Road/Memorial road junction. The triangular traffic island is dug up and the traffic lights are out of action. Looks like they've changed tack from their proposed timeline which wasn't supposed to start until February 2027. I think this is a decision made to link up with the new bridge being built at the war memorial gardens. Of course no update of the website and no communication from the NTA as is tradition for the piss-poor communications team they have there. Regular evening commuters will now be totally shocked when they encounter this, again fitting perfectly with the NTA's contempt for the travelling public.

Edit: this might have been a small utility diversion or ground investigation. Still no communication though

I was just about to post that triangle is intact, traffic lights on and a tell-tale scar in the island, having also passed it in the last 10 minutes. Are you seriously expecting to see a formal communication plan and updates for something like this?

Any chance you could just generally tone down the jumping to conclusions and resulting reflex hysteria?

We’re close to cancelling the LV project and giving it to a serious contractor.

You'd think the taxpayer would be informed of what the malfunction is here.

If there are issues, be they legal or whatever, they tend to try to sort them out in private first before going public, like any business.

Clearly there are issues with the contractor here but expecting a running commentary from either party isn’t realistic.

That being said we are getting close to the point where some sort of public announcements are going to have to be made.

They have to say something because even if sorted today they need to provide a new timetable of works. It is worrying for other projects that they get in to these situations. We can't even trust when a contract is signed now.

Well none of us know what the issues actually are, and speculating isn’t going to get us anywhere.
