Something I have noticed 3 times in the last week.

drivers who get help up for a few seconds, get really annoyed and start spinning the wheels on their cars to show how annoyed they are.

it is so pathetic, I saw a guy in his 50s do it today, 2 of the drivers were driving really crap cars, maybe that is why they are really mad?

I can't say I've ever noticed anything like this.

Watch out for it, I think its a new thing that is catching on.

Aye, have seen it a few times.

Also women flashing their boobs at delivery drivers.

I bet they can't flash and spin wheels at same time

I think some people have become really aggressive drivers since the covid times. This is just a result of it.

Yeah, COVID rage. It's a legit thing with a lot of scientific stuff out there.

Spinning the wheels would surely move the car, how could they do that if they're held up?

Are these drivers sitting there in traffic doing burn outs and not moving or spinning wheels while moving off?

One is deliberate but the other could be just loss of traction caused by no traction control/poor tyres/slippery road surface/poor driving.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Public transport user? If you're sick of phantom ghost services on the 'official' RTI sources, check bustimes.org for actual 'real' RTI, if it's on their map it actually exists.

Fair enough, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that it's accidental so, can easily be done in a manual front wheel drive car if you're a bit heavy with the right foot moving off.

none of the 3 incidents I saw were accidental.

One guy was blocked in at train station by a woman for less than 1 minute, he was clearly annoyed, he looked at me as if to say "do you believe this $hit"? she moved her car and he tore off like he was after robbing a bank.

The other 2 incidents were very similar.

it is worrying that people are getting so wound up over nothing. I think there is a thin line between these burn offs and attacking someone over minor traffic incidents. its not a normal reaction to being help up for a few seconds.

There is always a thing with the sheep.

Keeping the blinds down all the times

Shopping in PJs, seemed to have stopped now.

    Babies in pubs(non-skangers)

Teens with no issues are not going to school.

The sheep see someone else spinning wheels with annoyance, they copy it.

Just a symptom of the rise in aggressive behaviour in society in general.

Ignore them and don't make eye contact.

Ok I was really confused as to why "drivers who get help up" would do this, that would be really insecure, but after reading more posts - it is also insecure is doing it when they get held up :)

OP made the same mistake twice. The D key must be broke.

I agree. It's not limited to the road, I've noticed people are more on edge in general.

It's losing the cohesion that keeps a lid on a lot of it, seen as boring and old-fashioned: family life, eating dinner together, knowing the neighbours, staying in the same job for life, taking part in the community in some way. The rise of atomised lives, everyone does their own thing.

It's scarier when a middle-class person lets the mask slip; they have all the advantages, and yet.

No, it is west of Ireland though.

    Have you seen it happen?

Very true. That's what I do.

They are looking for a fight so that's the last thing you should give them.

Twice in Galway, that's why I asked were you there.

    It's so sad isn't it?

You have to laugh at them really, I haven't seen a woman do it YET.

    Was it all men?

It's an example of zero situational awareness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,367 ✭✭✭Mister Vain

Another thing I see a lot of is people pulling out before looking to see if anyone else is coming.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,461 ✭✭✭✭pgj2015

Or pulling out when they should wait a few seconds to let fast moving traffic past, rather than the fast traffic having to slam on their brakes. More me me me attitude.

There is more to this than it appears.

Modern SUVs are intentionally designed with an aggressive aesthetic driven by consumer demand.
