Anyone listed to Fanning’s Evening Show on RTE Gold?

Caught the shoe while I was travelling yesterday evening. Good selection of music but the construction of the shoe bugged me. Dave would jntro a track and then there were 20-30 minutes of further tracks back to back at which point he’d come back in, back announce the four of five tracks just played and intro the next track. Rinse and repeat.

I know regular radio has gone to hell with the typical shíte talk and the “WhatsApp us and tell us what the craic us there with you!” shtick. This is the other extend however. It felt like he’s doing an hours work a week, put together as few playlists and come in and record 40 minutes of links and off for the rest of the week. Fanning is very knowledgeable and you’d think that knowledge would be utilised more.
