fcuked if I know but he’s not likely to be sharing the bill with whoever has to replace those two bands. He’s a headline for smaller fests not a mid level support act at a legacy fest.

    completely

    The National formed in 1999.

of the 11 biggest names on the posters, only the coronas were formed later (in 2003) and they're obviously there as an irish act. Kerbdog and feeder are next at 1991 and 94 respectively.

all others were formed in the 80s or earlier.

The National are actually too new for a legacy festival like Forest Fest, and matt Beringer wouldn't have a big following among the dusties who are the main attendees here.

looking at the full lineup now, its actually a very, very strong festival for what is is and has become.

hopefully the new location lives up to the line up

Chameleons and David Kitt are nice additions too.

Oh yeah, 100%, sure I know that. I meant in Vicar St again or somewhere similar in Dublin. Gonna see him in Belgium anyway. I actually said something along those lines in an earlier post I think regarding The National (lost count how many times I've seen them, over 15 I'd say at least) when they were mentioned.

I just noticed that i have bought a caravan ticket instead of a campervan ticked with my weekend festival tickets 😬will this be an issue or will my small campervan be okay ? I was sure I bought a camervan ticket. Do other people's campervan tickets on Eventbrite say "campervan"

You'll be fine. They will most likely direct you to the Campervan's anyway. I don't think there is any difference in the cost.

Yeah same cost but I do rember different fields last year. It may be all in one spot on the new site

Haven't been to Forest fest before,Ive only been to maybe 3 festivals ever in Ireland.I just bought a couple of tickets for myself and the missus. We will be bringing a campervan.

From reading their site the festival doesn't seem to be free flow, can anyone confirm?

Also,we're planning on bringing enough booze for the 4 days,do they have limits, search campervans etc on the way in?

Any answers or tips greatly appreciated!

It's not free flow. There weren't any checks on the campervans previously. Smuggling alcohol into the festival site was hit and miss success wise.

Thats great info, thanks for the response.

Bit disappointing that its not free flow.

I don't drink Rockshore or Heineken or whatever the sponsor swill of choice is.Hopefully they might have a few smaller interesting vendors aswell.

No limit to the drink you can bring to the campsite, but you can't bring drink into the festival site. They do search that as well. One of the nice things about this festival is the walk between the camp and the site is the pub on the way. However with the change this year that might not be the case.

There's plenty of choice on the beer front the last few years with Wicklow Wolf and that moaning git in Stradbally along with the generic larger stuff and Gnt stands etc..

    Ah thats good to hear.

It's only myself and the Mrs but we plan on letting the hair down a bit and having a lot of drinks (or at least as many as we want)

Thats an expensive add on to an already expensive few days.If we had to buy drinks only onsite i guess thats about 200e between us for each day!

Ill be happy enough to wander back to camper and chill with a few of my own beers from time to time aswell.

Thats assuming of course its not too much of a trek!

There has been a real good cocktail and wine bar the last couple of years with actual proper amount ofalcohol in the cocktail (unlike some other festivals) I hope its there on the new site this year

Sounds great! We'll definitely be paying that a visit if its there.

There were a load of people drinking their own cans in the site on the Saturday last year anyway.
