Wondering what is the timeline for VRC cert being posted out for second hand car purchased from a dealer ?

We gave the deposit for the car on the 7th of March (Saturday) and we picked up the car from the dealer on the 19th (Thursday). Yet if I checked the motor tax site, all I see is that they were informed about the sale on the 9th of March (Monday)

It's a bit cropped but I can see the last change of ownership recorded was a transfer to a motor dealer which was notified on the 9th of March

This means the dealer has not transferred the ownership to you so you will not receive a logbook

It was transferred to the dealer on the 15th of January

We submitted a transfer of ownership recently on March 10th (car handover to a relative). There was still nothing showing up on the system yesterday, so we called the tax office in Shannon (over an hour on hold). They admitted they are a good bit behind on ownership transfers at the minute, but went ahead and did the transfer while we were on the phone. Now logged on the system, with the new VRC expected in post tomorrow.

Might be worth giving them a call yourself?
