Is the vehicle currently taxed? The request has to be made in the last month of the current valid taxation period. There is an exception to this where you have just purchased a new or second hand vehicle.

not currently taxed, have been declaring it off the road online with no issue for 5 or 6 years

Renewal of off road should be easy if you have done it before.

Give them a call or email.

Tried it on a different device and it worked.

    Thanks for your suggestions

Next year don’t bother with all this annual BS - when it comes to putting it back on the road just sell it to yourself.

Filling out a logbook and having to go to a post box is a lot more bother than clicking a few buttons on your phone. Not to mention adding multiple unnecessary owners to your car

It can be done by clicking a few buttons now too - nobody gives a shite about no. of owners in modern Ireland.

Is there any reason for the annual off the road declaration now that AGS have the details of all vehicles in their hands ?

Why on earth would you change the ownership when you can just declare it off the road? Claiming that the number of owners on a car is not important is simply untrue

Do you advertise the no. of owners on your imports - a lot of cars in Ireland are imports with no ownership history.

Me? I only import from Japan and generally have no idea how many owners a car has had over there. The Dept of Transport automatically resets the owners back to 0 and so does DoneDeal so there's nothing I can really do about that.
