This sums it up for me too.

Also finishing at 6 for a sports show is a crazy idea in my opinion.

I hardly listen to it at all now.

What is the point in talking about sport now when they have a dedicated program on about it in 25 minutes time.

Hannon and Lenihan taking turns to have a good kick at the Govt.

Hannon loves that, she was like that on the Late Debate.

I turned on Drivetime today at 5.20pm (ish) to hear Colm and Katie's stand in (Claire Brock?) discussing the singer Olivia Dean , someone I had never heard of, and had to google. This is on a primetime News programme slot, a Monday evening, commuters trying to catch up on current affairs.

We get enough fluff during Liveline and Louise Duffy surely! But no our national broadcaster thinks discussing random singers at 5.20pm on Monday evenings is a good idea? We are experiencing a war that in changing by the hour in Iran, fuel prices rising by the hour, unbelievably violent attacks on women over the weekend, a stark warning on climate change and coastal residents and an Air Canada crash at LaGuardia that resulted in 2 deaths……….but I got to hear of a singer I never knew existed.

So I switched over to Newstalk and they were discussing the price of ice cream cones!!! This is mainstream Irish radio targeting a prime time audience who want to be updated on current affairs on a Monday evening.

I’m afraid that’s the road Ms Monaghan wants us to go down.

Once MI is over at 0900 it’s down hill all the way apart the news at one and the bulletins.

It’s a general dumbing down of radio with the accent on social media driven topics.

Two seperate commentars use the phrase "right-sizing"in relation to older people selling up for smaller homes ..is there some idict which comes down from on high to use such phrases or buzzwords to perhaps guilt older citizens like myself who've worked hard to pay for our homes into selling up their larger homes ...they can f××k right off ,I like having extra bedrooms in case of visitors nor did I help to create the housing crisis
