The Lakelander Gravel Grinder returns to Belcoo, Co. Fermanagh later this month for an epic day of gravel cycling. With route options to suit different levels, it’s the perfect early-season challenge for gravel, MTB and e-MTB riders alike .

Looking forward to doing this again this year after a few years break , anyone one else signed up and what route distances has everyone chosen

Looking forward to it and hopefully the weather is alright. Fitness probably isnt were it was last October, but still aiming for the 100km.

Not looking forward to the drive up and down to it though😅

Yes indeed weather will play a big part on the day. The 100km is the plan too , fitness similiar as yours but look we can still cram in some training over the next few weeks 😂 . Dont mind drive up so much, drive home differant story can be a pain however a couple of coffees ☕️ and a chipper feed 🍔🍟 on the way usually helps .

I see they have extended the entry by a week aswell

cracking day for it, first time in 4 times doing it I've seen the view out over lough navar.

liked the "new" route, having navar over early and Belmont close to the finish seemed easier somehow. legs felt great all day, managed my fastest time so far, just under 5 hours on the saddle, bit longer duration with waiting for mates

Yeah the view really was lovely, never been around that part of the country and its fantastic. I was a bit over 5 hours, dealt with some cramp after 70k and slowed us down proper and meant walking up that proper 20% gradient climb a bit before the end.

Had a mechanical after getting my medal, which also meant I had to walk back to the car park…lesson learned on a too short chain.

the deforestation was very noticeable this year compared to previous times. though maybe I was just deeper in the pain cave the previous years

Fantastic event chose the 60 on the day and enjoyed every minute absolutely stunning scenery and good craic amongst other riders . Cant recommend this event enough proper gravel course and that burger at the end just topped it off nicely ..

Gravel Grind West has just popped up on the radar now . .
