Opelka beats Draper in the second round in Miami. Nothing Draper could do really, Opelka was on fire. Alacraz beat Fonseca 6-4, 6-4.

In the women's Swaitek was beaten in the first by Linette. Sabalenka and Rybakina still going strong. Think those 2 will be seeing aot of each other in finals this year. Going to be some competition in the ladies with Sabalenka, Rybakina, Swaitek and then the likes of Gauff and Anisimova chasing them.

Talia Gibson is on a right march, took out Osaka in straight sets (I'm delighted!). One to watch if she can keep up this run of form.

Watching Alcaraz v Korda, 2 things strike me.....

    1. Alcaraz seems to be having borderline rows with his coaching box a lot of the time - it's a marked contrast to the zen calm that JC Ferrera seemed to bring to his game
    2. I wonder why the commentary team can't find someone who speaks Spanish to let the rest of us know what all those rows (animated discussions) are about!

And 3, Korda is playing out of his skin here, and I'd fancy his chances (although Alcaraz has come out of tight corners plenty times before, but he just doesn't have that look about him today)

Wow, that's a huge win for Korda over Alcaraz. Maybe his biggest ever result

Korda couldn't back up his big win against Alcaraz with a win today. He was beaten by another Spaniard called Landaluce in 3 sets 2-6, 7-6, 6-4.

Fritz also out losing to Lehecka 6-4, 6-7, 6-2. Mboko against Muchova, only started currently going with serve Mboko leading 2-1. Mboko has had a strong start.

Fritz looked really pushed against Lehecka in Miami today, who is really looking like a future slam contender. I was happy, but not surprised to see Jiri demonstrate technically perfect shot execution combined with some real power.

The question remains that although he is technically very strong, does he have the mindset to go all the way in one of the slams. He looked very good in Queens last Summer, when he went on an unbelievable run to get to the final.
