    Wondering what’s expected here?

I lost my job unexpectedly recently and I can’t afford sums like €500 as mentioned in some similar posts here.
also the hotel for the night is costing me 250 euro

Nothing, surely your sibling wouldn't expect anything and would be most understanding also.

Presumably your sibling and their intended are aware of your situation? If so, I can't imagine myself in their place expecting a present but you know these people better than anyone here.

If I were in your situation I would have a quiet word, either with your sibling directly or if that was awkward, perhaps a parent

A voucher to help with work on their house - painting, cleaning, gardening, minding kids

Honestly, nobody here knows them or your situation better then you do. Talk to your sibling .

I wouldn't worry about "What seems to be the norm", people on here post absolutely insane figures for gifts that I've literally never heard of anyone giving or receiving in real life.

Sincerely; if my sibling had lost their job and they had to pay 250 for a hotel room to attend my wedding I'd be embarrassed if they gave me a present on top of that. Just talk to them

Yes, a good talk should do the trick.

You’re siblings till death do you part. Lol
