I presume FSG don't mind if we miss out on champions league football seeing as they are going to persist with Slot until the summer

    Inexcusable.

He'll blame the short turnaround. He'll blame an early injury. But this is the normality this season.

    Wednesday, unfortunately, an aberration.

Rio at least looks lively when he gets a touch

Given that the team do seem to be able to step up on occasion, especially in the champions' League, it should mean there is high potential for a new manager bounce.

Not that it would happen, just think for a second what Klopp stepping into that dressing room would do for the team, they would run through walls.

Honestly I think that Slot's style definitely had a big contribution to getting over the line last year, but some managers really are just suited to one or two seasons of high level football. Think of managers like Conte, Ranieri, even Mourinho imo and many others. They are best suited to short stints, and rapid success followed by a fall off. They are also usually very particular temperaments, and communication style. Often they have blow ups with players, and eventually the club. Slot could just be in that mold really.

The only Control that Slot knows anything about is the buttons on his keyboard. Hopefully he presses it and F4 at the same time on his Liverpool management career.

I haven't enjoyed watching my team for an age. This is awful mouldy shîte. The only moments of brightness is watching Ngumoha.

    Hilarious defending

It always was. Galatasaray are rubbish.

    Slot is a fraud.

Another game by the way where we've been completely outclassed by a team who are not in any sort of low block defensive set up.

Slot spent ages complaining about the low blocks and has since been turned over by expansive open teams week after week.

You are a bleedin clown Szob

City Collapsing and Mo were the main reasons.

We certainly had more 1 goal wins and were happy for games in the balance for longer but I don't know of they are style positives.

I'm off the fence on Slot today.

If they could change the manager during the international break, I'd do it. This is terminal unfortunately.

A fraud who won the league. Fickle.

Two really stupid fouls by Chiesa and Szob in the last few minutes. Braindead stuff.

Ending the match with Jones at RB, Gravenberch at CB, and being absolutely slaughtered. It's all completely wild. Brighton should have 4 or 5 goals

    Rubbish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,172 ✭✭✭giveitholly

Why the need to call him a fraud? Does it make ye feel better? At the end of the day he won a league for us as manager. Its not working out this season and it looks like Slot can't turn it around but is there really need for these childish comments?

    Fouls. Yellow card.

Is it Slot’s fault that, for example, Dom played his worst game of the season?

He sent them out to play the exact way they played v Gala. Players are to blame for the performance, especially the leaders

Yeah, I mean I've always felt his influence was way overegged last season and it shouldn't have been a massive surprise that we would have an on par points total with the previous season after a summer of no transfers.

    Nonetheless, personal insults aren't helpful.

Midtable for us for the forseeable methinks. Alot of medicore and uninterested players. Not all on Slot

    • 1 point from Wolves , spurs and Brighton is utterly diabolical. it’s blindingly obvious he’s not going to turn this around now. I wish the club would act now as I’m really struggling for the first time as Liverpool fan to watch us play anymore .

Outclassed outfought out of ideas its the same rubbish every weekend

I missed the first hour of this. Can only comment on what I've seen, and what I've seen has been shambolic, illdisclipined, disorganised, and woefully poor.

Notwithstanding missing players, this is terrible stuff. Regardless of whether we somehow fall into the Champions League next year, this regime is dead and must go. Whether it's now or during the summer,Arne and Co are done.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 750 ✭✭✭Mr.CoolGuy

Yes it is his fault that Dom played his worst game because none of the other players are coached well enough to make up for it.

Everything about this is his fault. Stop making excuses.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,218 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

If there's "nothing Slot can do" then why keep him in the first place

It shouldn't be a massive surprise if you had the exact same manager who was considered top 3 or maybe best in the world. It doesn't make sense that a new unproven manager should be able to achieve the same points total (with 4 games to spare also by the way), lest we could have just hired Sean Dyche and saved ourselves a bunch of money.
